Chapter 25

Susan could have sworn that she was over her past. Five years was enough to make her feel numb about what tragedy happened to her, but Richard Williams had appeared out of the blue and was sticking a knife into an old wound, making it bleed all over again.

If only Richard knew what was about to happen to him, he would have defended himself, because the sudden show of disrespect from Susan was alarming. Susan took the cheque from Richard, tore it to pieces, and then threw it back at him. As if her pouring ice water on him was not enough. Not in Richard's life had a woman ever disregarded him like this. He could not believe what was happening to him in Susan"s hands.

"I'm not giving you my kids" she barked at him. Where she suddenly got the push to be rude again was unknown because just a couple of minutes ago, she had passed out of her mind.
