His heart was beating erratically. His eyes were interlocked with hers. They did not flutter, and neither did her lips stutter on answering his question.

There was a moment of silence as John took his time to process the word, he just heard.
He asked all the servants to leave at once and then stormed towards the side of Madison. He stood right in front of her, not leaving much space between them.
"Why??"
John's question was straightforward. He did not have any intention to beat around the bush. He just needed to know why.
