On the bed she sat, contemplating on words to say and how to say them. Everyone else seemed to have left and now she was alone with the girls. April sat on the chair beside the table staring at her supposed mother, someone she couldn't bring herself to being informal with just yet. Ava stood, folding her arms and leaning on the wall that stood at the foot of the bed. She kept a straight face staring at her mom awaiting the words that would exit her lips.
"Well if I am going to explain everything to you two, at least don't stand around like I was some stranger"
Mrs Smith voiced, fixing her eyes on them at intervals and demonstrating with her hands.
"Oh come on, don't go acting like you're the mom of the year now"
Ava spoke, turning her face away.
"You think I hate you, don't you?"
Mrs Smith asked her in a calm tone, Ava rolled her eyes at the question and gave no response.
