22 White Lies

Their kiss was interrupted by Evan’s phone ringing. He didn’t let go of Chloe completely, just pulled out a hand to pick up the device and see who it was.

The name “Jill” was on the screen. Evan sighed heavily and turned off without answering. Chloe saw who was and it changed her humor.

“I’m gonna take a shower.” She broke free from the hug, grabbed some clothes and headed to the bathroom.

Evan realized her change and gave space to her. He went to the balcony and inhaled deeply. Maybe the fresh air of his favorite place on Earth could help him get himself together.

Why did Jill still mess with him? What kind of feeling was that? The only thing Evan could assure was: what he felt for Chloe was very different from what he felt for Jill. Could one of those feelings be love?
