26 Happiness Is a Choice

When Evan and Chloe came back to the house it was lunch time. All the family was seated around the table, talking about amenities. The couple joined them and Chloe was feeling so much better after Evan’s support at the beach.

Evan seemed to be another man. He was joking, playing with the kids, and sometimes he glanced at Chloe just to make sure she was ok. Chloe wondered if that version was the real one or if he was just playing a great role.

“Evan, I would like to discuss some business issues with you. Would you join me for a coffee in my office?” Richard said calmly.

“Sure. Shall we?” Evan asked and his father just nodded.

They excused themselves to leave the table and Evan gave a quick kiss at Chloe’s head before he followed his father.

Chloe went to her room to take a shower while Emma and Elena went to the living room to play with the kids.

When Richard and Evan were comfortable, the maid served the coffee and left the room.
