Chapter 42 : A Word Of Warning
A knock at Mia’s door startles her out of bed. She looks at the time, groaning when she sees that the sun is barely starting to rise over the horizon. Hoping whoever’s at the door will just get the hint and leave, she tries to settle back into bed.
Another round of knocking finally gets her up, and she storms to the front door in nothing but a pair of sleep shorts and an oversized t-shirt, ready to curse out whoever wants to wake her up.
Luckily, both her grandparents have started to lose some of their hearing, so they seem to sleep comfortably through the noise.
She swings the door open to see a perfectly put-together Elon waiting for her. He’s wearing a charcoal gray suit that brings out his eyes and holding a bouquet of wildflowers. It only takes Mia a glance to see that the flowers are the very same as the ones in the painting Elon bought her.
