Chapter 15 : Playing Catch Up
After Elon drops Mia back off at her grandparent’s house, he heads back home, dreading the amount of work he knows he has waiting for him.
As much as he doesn’t regret making the time for their trip, he would no doubt spend an equal amount of time putting out fires. Elon’s never spent this much time away before, especially without any kind of contact with the office.
As Elon drives, he finally lets himself relax enough to think about all the things clouding his mind. He has never been one to question himself before. He always took time to consider his options and once his mind was made up, he never looked back.
That is, of course, until now. Some mornings, he wakes up not sure he recognizes the man looking back at him in the mirror. For as long as Elon remembers, people always told him that he seems emotionless and hollow inside. It doesn’t bother him; emotions always seem to lead to disaster in his experience.
