Love Rain

Andre was still looking out the window even though now the window was filled with raindrops that made him unable to see anything, but Andre is still waiting for Maya to pass, even though it has been since last noon until night, now he still doesn't see Maya.

"Maya... " Andre looked down sadly, the fact that if his first love had married another man, it made the wound in his heart even wider.

"Until when do you want to stand there?" Asked Agung, who came with a cup of hot tea which he now put on Andre's desk.

"Maya is still alive daddy, trust me." Andre's sounded painful to Agung, he still didn't believe his son's words but seeing Andre, who seemed to have lost half of his soul, made him hope that Maya was still alive, but he saw the bodies of Maya and Arya with his own eyes and there was no way Maya was still alive.

"Come back to America tomorrow. Being here will only make you slowly go crazy Andre." Agung doesn't know how to make Andre understand. Agung thought that he would let Andre return to Indonesia after many years of Maya's departure, so Andre would forget about him, but since coming to Indonesia, Andre is even more lost in thoughts of Maya, who he thinks is still alive. For that, Agung told Andre to return to America where his mother lived there, maybe he would heal the wound in Andre's heart.

"I won't go anywhere until I bring Maya back with me," Andre replied firmly, emphasizing that he would not go anywhere even though his father asked him to return to live with his mother. Andre then left his father who was now screaming his name but Andre ignored him.

....

In another place, Maya and Marve immediately ran when the rain suddenly fell heavily making their clothes instantly wet.

The sandy road made it difficult for Maya and Marve to run to their car until when they entered the car, their clothes were soaked and there was not a single corner that was out of touch.

They then laughed when they realized their appearance now.

"Your eyeliner is running. You look like a ghost now." Marve teased a laugh, Maya then quickly looked at the mirror and wiped the remaining black ink under her eyes.

"Too bad, it took me up to an hour to make it," Maya grumbled irritably.

"Is that why you were out of the room so long this morning?"

Maya nodded shyly but Marve just laughed and brushed Maya's wet hair.

"Your eyes are still beautiful even if you don't use eye lines." Said Marve, smiling.

"Really?" Maya asked, her expression suddenly changing.

Maya then brought her face closer to Marve, who was getting nervous now.

"Then, can you please tell Veronica to stop bothering me?" Maya asked, winking her eyes, hoping that Marve would melt and comply with her request.

But unexpectedly, instead of obeying, Marve instead showed an annoyed expression now because it turned out that behind the seductive smile and dazzling gaze it was just a seduction for him to fire Veronica and a moment later Marve smiled meaningfully, making Maya instantly nervous. Marve can always turn things around very easily.

"No .. she will still be your teacher after that she can be your assistant. She is very competent." Marve said excitedly.

"Nightmare," Maya muttered weakly.

Marve then grabbed a piece of tissue and wiped the remaining eyeliner that had smudged under Maya's eyes.

Maya's body froze again, every gentle touch given by Marve touched her heart which felt weak now.

Her eyes could not let go of Marve's face, who was painstakingly wiping Maya's face where the eyeliner had worn off.

"Let's go home," Maya asked, her voice was trembling. Maya was very nervous because Marve's face was very close to hers.

Marve then looked at his wet watch and it was almost midnight so he started the engine of his car leaving the beach through the pouring rain.

...

The rain is very heavy, you can feel it if the wind is blowing too hard.

Marve's car drove through the pouring rain, when not yet out of the beach area there was a crowd of people in the middle of the road so Marve had to stop the car.

Now there is one of the men from the crowd who approached Marve's car and knocked on the windshield.

Maya was starting to get scared now and grabbed Marve's sleeve, which was still wet.

The window knocked again, so Marve slowly lowered the windshield, even though he was also worried about who the man was blocking his way.

"What's happen, sir?" Marve asked carefully, the man was a well-built man with a thick mustache making his face very fierce.

Maya and Marve felt increasingly worried, especially when the man was holding a large ax.

"It's better not to go through here, there are fallen trees until the road is closed." The man said in a friendly voice, dispelling the anxiety that had been haunting Maya and Marve.

"Is there another way, sir?" Asked Marve.

"This is the only main road, better find an inn nearby." The man advised before leaving Marve's car.

Now Marve and Maya stare at each other confused, the road is closed so they have to stay in wet clothes like this?

...

There is no choice but to stay overnight.

Maya and Marve have arrived at the inn, the place is very small and simple, even the bed looks very narrow but this is the only inn available.

"Change your clothes first, don't catch a cold," Marve said because the clothes they were wearing were still dripping with water.

"I do not have a change of clothes," Maya replied, to be honest, she was very cold but she could not take her clothes off just like that.

Marve then looked for something they could wear but Marve found only one bathrobe and a towel in the storage cupboard.

"Put this on, it's pretty thick." Marve handed Maya the bathrobe, she hesitantly grabbed it because she couldn't stand the cold that made her shiver.

After that Maya immediately went to the bathroom and changed her clothes into a bathrobe.

Now Maya's body is quite warm, but the bathrobe she is wearing is so small that it exposes her groin.

Marve, who felt the atmosphere was starting to be different, immediately looked away and immediately entered the bathroom without saying anything.

After leaving the bathroom Marve wore only a towel that covered her lower body.

His muscular abdominals were visible and marching towards him like a block arranged parallel, and then Marve's arm muscles and also his broad shoulders which felt as wide as the ocean made Maya eager to lean her face there.

Oh God, my mind wouldn't be clear if Marve looked like that.

Maya was about to lower her gaze down, but it seems Marve noticed her naughty eyes so Maya immediately looked away.

"Aren't there more bathrobes?" Maya asked to get rid of her awkwardness.

"Don't get me wrong, this is all I can wear."

Maya nodded and then looked away again before she could not control her eyes that wanted to continue to see Marve's burly body.

...

Sleep is now over them, but Marve doesn't dare touch the bed and Maya just sits on the edge of this small bed.

"Go to sleep, it's late. We will come back tomorrow morning." Said Marve.

"You don't sleep?"

"I'll sleep on the floor."

It was still raining hard outside and the air was very cold, there was no way Maya would let Marve sleep on the floor in this cold air, maybe Marve would be sick, So with a little consideration, Maya finally asked Marve to sleep next to her.

"Sleep here with me, Marve." Said Maya patting the bed right next to her.

Marve's face changed to another, could Maya take him to sleep together? Marve was still thinking hard until Maya realized that the sentence she said might make Marve misunderstood.

"I mean..." Maya's tongue became complaining now, how could she say such a thing? "Oh, Maya! Maybe, will think you're teasing him, you stupid girl!" Maya cursed herself silently, and now the atmosphere got even more awkward.

"I mean you get sick if you sleep on the floor, sleep with me."

Maya blinked her eyes which didn't feel itchy but that sentence was not an excuse, he even exacerbated the tension between them "sleep with me?" oh Maya, your stupidity is absolute.

Marve then walked slowly to the other side of the bed and sat down next to Maya, Their feet were still hanging from the floor while they didn't look at each other at all until the sound of thunder sounded like it hit the roof of their inn shocked them and ended up hugging each other tightly out of fear.

The roar continued to greet like a chorus above the thundering sky until Maya and Marve realized that they were hugging each other now and a second later they were moving away.

The cold air was no longer cold but turned hot now, even their foreheads were sweating now.

"What should I do now?" Marve though because the atmosphere was so suffocating he could barely breathe now.

"thank you."

Marve looked at Maya confused because she suddenly apologized.

"You are very good to my family. Thank you very much." Maya said again.

"Your family is my family now," Marve replied, making Maya's heart touched and warmed.

"But our marriage is a contract that has a time limit."

"Didn't we agree not to limit ourselves to each other?" Marve looks unhappy now.

Marve just made new rules instead of eliminating the contract between them but Maya didn't dare to say it directly and decided to keep quiet.

"and to me, marriage is still a marriage."

"We still have a few months left until then, if there is no love between us then we can part ways on good terms."

It felt really easy for Marve to say things like that, meaning that if only I fell in love with him the contract would still run, just that I would be hurt.

Maya immediately felt sad.

"Then we better not have to play with fire, Marve. I'm afraid to lose my heart." Maya said, then she lay down and covered herself with a thin blanket and slept with her back to Marve.

Marve feels sorry now, he shouldn't have discussed breaking up if he didn't intend to separate from Maya.

"I'm more afraid of losing you," Marve whispered after hugging Maya from behind.

Maya was just silent without saying anything and closed her eyes to let the warmth of Marve's hugging body warm her and her heart.

"Love doesn't come in such a short time Marve, you might just get carried away," Maya said, but Marve didn't reply and instead tightened her hug.

Could it be that Marve had fallen in love with her? Maya's heart and mind were filled with questions about how Marve felt about her.

Marve was so attentive to her, his attitude slowly warmed her up, but Marve said the breakup so easily made Maya unable to find a single answer to all the questions that arose.

Could it be that love could come in such a short time in Marve's heart? Or maybe he had fallen in love with Marve in this short amount of time?
