8 Respect that she deserved

The head butler was completely baffled for a moment.

Is this the same Su Lin who did nothing but hide in her room and blame everyone else for her mistakes?

"What is going on here?" He was confused. "Okay. Thanks for the report. I will notify the young master."

Normally, they wouldn't bother informing about the young mistress and her "dramatic" actions like not eating her meals or crying in a corner for no reason.

But this was a sensitive time.

Everybody in Hangzhou city knew of the young master's sick wife and her terminal illness. One of his competitors even tried to use this knowledge to his advantage.

He gathered the media and painted a picture of the cold and distant behavior of Shi Meng to his own beloved bedridden wife.

The headlines that day read, "The Materialistic Emperor of the Shi Dynasty."

Surprisingly though, Shi Meng didn't even take a dent from that incident. If anything it made him look more ruthless and capable as a businessman.

However, sadly, the same cannot be said for the opposite party.

The company, whose CEO started this incident, completely disappeared from the face of the earth and a new branch of the Shi industries was opened in its place.

But still, to be on the safer side and to prevent such incidences from happening again, they had to stay alert and aware of the problematic young mistress's actions and her location at all times.

Well, at least for the time being.

Luckily, for them, the village hick was going to kick the bucket very soon, and they wouldn't have to worry about the sick Mrs. Shi and her antics any longer.

So, everyone was holding their breath and carefully treading the waters without causing any major ripples.

But now, this idiotic woman actually dared to defy direct orders and run away from home!

"My God, this woman is going to be the death of me."

The head butler cursed his luck. He then took out his phone and carefully worded a text message, before sending it to the young master.

Meanwhile...

Su Lin gently murmured, with a distant look on her tired face. "Drive to a nearby Bank. I still have some errands to run." 

She sighed and rubbed her temples. She had changed bodies! She had changed planets!! But, she was still running for her life!!

How pathetic! Is history going to repeat all over again?

Or, will she finally be able to conquer her fatal weakness in this new life...

Su Lin gently sighed as her mind wandered off into the distance. A lot of jumbled up things weighed heavily on her brain.

She indeed had a lot of errands to run in this world before she could finally enjoy her newfound freedom.

The cab soon screeched to a halt in front of the bank and Su Lin got down.

As she looked around, her thin, tall, and elegant frame walked into the bank with a confident and poised posture.

Neither her simple clothes nor her tired appearance could hide the arrogant noble aura she effortlessly exuded.

Su Lin approached an open counter and gave the bank teller her documents.

"I need to close out my account here." Her melodious voice rang out attracting the attention of the busy blue-collar worker.

The teller looked up at her petite figure and politely replied, "Hello madam. Good afternoon. If you don't mind, could you please tell me the reason why you are closing this account."

This was the automatic response that he was supposed to give anyone approaching him about the closing of an account.

So the man had robotically mumbled the magic words as he had done before a hundred times over, but when his eyes fell on the actual presented documents, he immediately panicked and let out a muffled gasp.

Damn it! Such a high-profile person!! This was "the fucking Mrs. Shi"!

SHIT SHIT SHIT...

Had he been a little too disrespecting or condescending when he had spoken to her earlier?

He went over their conversation dozens of times in his mind.

"What did I even say? Shit .. I can't remember what I said. If I screw this up, I am fired for sure."

Wiping his sweat off, he hurriedly continued, "Sorry for the inconvenience madam. Just give me one minute and I can quickly finish the whole process for you."

"In the meantime, would you like something to drink madam?"

"Actually, please have a seat there. I can close out the account and bring your account balance in cash to you. Would that be convenient?"

"Please have a seat there. Next time you can please just call us madam. I myself will come to the manor and satisfy your requests."

"No need for you to personally make a trip here." The teller scratched his head and nervously danced.

Su Lin was stunned for a second. Then she realized what was going on and her lips curled up in amusement.

So, this is the treatment and respect that she, the so-called Mrs. Shi, was supposed to get huh?! Interesting.

"Yes, cash should be fine." She smiled.
