A Happy Alex
Vanessa led Elizabeth to the kitchen and they both started dinner, and Sophia joined them shortly after.
Soon the atmosphere became more friendly and laughter echoed around the kitchen as Elizabeth shared tales of Alex's mischief during his childhood.
"I'm sure Alex would cringe when he finds out you told us all these. I never knew he was such an handful as a kid." Vanessa said amidst laughter.
"Alex was more than an handful, but he was a really sweet boy, and I will never trade him for anyone." Elizabeth said and Vanessa believed her.
They were all engrossed in their talks they missed the sound of the door opening.
Alex's brows furrowed when he heard the happy chatter coming from the kitchen. There were three voices, two which belonged to Vanessa and Sophia, and the third—
"Mum?" Alex called out in surprise, when he saw his mother standing over the island with Vanessa and Sophia.
