I had fun

The next dawned very quickly and before I knew it the sunlight was streaming in through my window, coaxing me from slumber. I stretched and yawned, feeling a sense of anticipation building within me. As I rolled over, I couldn't help but remember the clumsy mishap of the previous day. With a groan, I got out of bed, careful to avoid any sudden movements that might worsen my already sprained ankle.

After a bit of a struggle, I managed to get dressed for the day and even enjoyed a quick breakfast with Granny. I planted a kiss on her cheek and said my goodbyes, eager to spend the day with Agnes.

Sure enough, moments later, my phone rang and Agnes's name flashed on the screen. "Ready for a spa day?" she exclaimed in her usual enthusiastic tone.

I chuckled. "Absolutely! Can't wait for it."

Agnes arrived shortly after, her red hair a vibrant contrast to her cheerful smile. She exchanged playful banter with Granny, who seemed to be in high spirits today, before we headed out.

As Agnes drove, our conversation flowed effortlessly. With a relaxed smile, Agnes glanced at me and then chuckled to herself.

"What's on your mind now?" I asked, intrigued by her sudden amusement.

Agnes grinned mischievously. "Oh, just thinking about my funny guy neighbor."

I arched an eyebrow. "Funny guy neighbor? Do tell."

She leaned back, adjusting her seat, and began her story. "So, you know the really handsome guy who lives in the apartment across from mine? The one who always seems to be so quiet and mysterious?"

I nodded, recalling the enigmatic neighbor she was referring to. "Yeah, I remember you mentioning him. What about him?"

Agnes's eyes twinkled with amusement. "Well, I've decided to embark on a mission. A mission to make him like me."

Good God

I burst into laughter. "Wait, what? Seriously?"

Agnes shrugged playfully. "Why not? He's intriguing. And I've been observing him for a while now. He's like this enigma, always reading, never loud, and definitely attractive."

I chuckled. "So, what's the plan then? How do you plan to do this?"

Agnes grinned, clearly entertained by her. "I was thinking of finding some way to strike up a conversation. Maybe I'll 'accidentally' bump into him on the way or something."

I raised an eyebrow. "And then what?"

She shrugged. "Who knows? Maybe he'll open up a bit, we'll talk, and then who knows where it might lead?"

I laughed, thoroughly amused by Agnes's determination. "You're something else, you know that?"

Agnes flashed a cheeky grin. "But here's the thing. I might need your help."

I raised my eyebrows in surprise. "My help? What could I possibly do?"

Agnes's grin widened. "You're a people person, Amelia. You have a way of making anyone comfortable. So, I thought, maybe you could give me some tips or even join in on the mission to ease the awkwardness."

I shook my head, still chuckling. "Agnes, you're taking this to a whole new level."

She leaned in with a playful glint in her eye. "Come on, you have to admit, it's a fun challenge!"

I couldn't help but laugh at her enthusiasm. "Alright, alright. I'll help out. But remember, no guarantees on the outcome."

Agnes clapped her hands excitedly. "Perfect! This is going to be fun."

The ride continued in a solemn silence that was easy and comfortable after some moment, agnes's voice was cutting through the atmosphere. we caught up on the latest gossip, shared our dreams, and laughed about the quirks of our lives. The time passed quickly, and before I knew it, we were pulling up to the spa.

The spa was a calm oasis, a place of relaxation amidst the bustle of life. We stepped inside, greeted by soothing music and the scent of essential oils. Agnes and I giggled like schoolgirls as we changed into plush robes, ready to indulge in a day of pampering.

"I'm telling you, this is exactly what we needed," Agnes said with a mischievous glint in her eyes.

I nodded in agreement. "No arguments here."

We were led to a tranquil room with dim lighting and the soft sound of trickling water. As we settled into comfortable lounge chairs, the spa attendants began our treatments. I couldn't help but sigh in contentment as skilled hands worked their magic, kneading away the tension in my muscles.

"So, any updates on the guy from yesterday?" Agnes asked with a knowing grin.

I rolled my eyes, feigning nonchalance. "Oh, you mean the 'love sick' guy? Just a figment of your wild imagination."

Agnes laughed playfully. "Sure, sure. I've got my eyes on you."

As the treatments continued, Agnes amused me with her usual hilarious stories, mimicking the spa attendants' soothing voices in exaggerated fashion. We shared stories, gossiped about the latest happenings, and even attempted to guess the various scents of the essential oils used.

At one point, as we were both draped in face masks that made us look like characters from a sci-fi movie, Agnes couldn't help but burst into laughter. I joined in, the sight of us utterly ridiculous and our laughter infectious.

When it was time for a unique foot soak that involved tickling sensations, Agnes and I practically doubled over in laughter. We exchanged playful glances, giggling like teenagers caught in a prank.

As the day at the spa came to a close, we emerged feelingrevived and lighter in spirit. Our faces were glowing, and our hearts were full from a day of laughter and bonding. Agnes dropped me off at home, and as we said our goodbyes, we exchanged promises to do this again soon.

I walked back into Granny's house, feeling the warmth of her smile as she saw me enter. "How was your day, dear?"

I couldn't help but grin. "Absolutely amazing, Granny. Agnes and I had a blast."

She chuckled. "That's wonderful to hear. You deserve days like this."

As the evening sun began to set, I settled into a cozy chair, a contented sigh escaping my lips. The memory of the spa day played through my mind, reminding me of the joy that friendship brings.

And for a moment, the thoughts of Xander were pushed to the background, replaced by the vibrant memories of today's fun with Agnes.
