Dave had guessed it. She did overthink. Coupled with the pregnancy hormones, it most likely happened.
To be honest, he never expected their meeting to happen. At least Anna knew about Linda, not that way. Who was not surprised to find her husband's ex-lover standing in front of her? And what did she say? Did Jenny offer her to work with Linda? It was ridiculous! He was not worried about Linda but about his wife. He was worried about what Anna thought and felt the whole time she worked with Linda. It would be better if he were a mind reader. Unfortunately, he wasn't and just relied on his instincts to guess what was on her mind.
"About Jenny's offer. What if you refuse it?" he asked close to her ear. Oh, he loved the smell. It soothed him by smelling her scent and feeling her warmth. It felt like he wanted to hug her all day. Certainly not because of the conversation about Linda, as she alleged, but he really wanted to hold her and rub her belly. And talking to their baby.
"Why?"
