Chapter Five

The group of campers were near the Generator Room.

Jack flicked on the bright light. 'It'll be fine now'. Alice, Bill, Brenda, Ned, and Marcie, were glad to deal with the illuminated room. The musty room was freed up now. 'Let's swim in the lake', Marcie said. They smiled, and decided to take a break from work. As they did so, the killer watched them from afar. The distant memories of the past had failed to quell the burning hatred for the campers, and others who came to Camp Crystal Lake; a hatred that was everlasting. Alice had forgotten about Steve Christy, since he was too insecure to love her. Bill, on the other hand, was kind. And a hard worker. She knew he was in love with her. She saw the campers were on the pier; she noticed the deep woods, where the shadows dwelled. Brenda gasped, when she saw a stranger lurking across the glistening lake.

'Who is it, Brenda?', Marcie asked.

'I don't know, Marcie', Brenda answered.

All she could do was shiver with fear.

The broom swept across dirty cabin.

When she saw a snake, she yelled: 'BILL!'. Bill, Jack, and Marcie, as well as Ned and Brenda, ran towards the animal. Bill dragged the snake into the woods. Afterwards, there was a burst of a motorcycle's engine. Crystal Lake Police Officer, Jon Dorf, a thirty year old man, appeared at the camp. He had black hair, blue eyes, and average height; he wore sunglasses. He seemed concerned that anyone was at the camp, and cabins. 'Who are you, and what're you all doing here?', he asked. 'I'm Brenda. I'm a volunteer. Can we help you, Officer?', she answered.

'Looking for the town crazy, Crazy Ralph'.

'The town crazy', Alice said.

'When he gets the religious call, he gets drunk. And I'll have to drag him into the jail cell', Officer Jon Dorf said.

Ned, who was dressed in a Native American head dress, and uniform, said: 'There's no one that's crazy here'.

'Be quiet, Tonto!', Officer Jon Dorf yelled.

'Hey, nice bike', Jack said.

'What are you on, boy? Grass, weed...'.

'No, Officer. I don't smoke, or do drugs. That's bad shit', Jack lied. Suddenly, the radio mike sparked. 'Officer Dorf. The Sheriff wants you want you back at the Station'. 'Ah, that's fine'. He added: 'Don't want to keep the Sheriff waiting. We don't want any weirdness at Camp Crystal Lake'. And he rode away, as the campers laughed at him, until they went back to the cabins.
