Chapter 18: How About You Bully Her Again?

Garde couldn't let Saria and Laurentina fight each other.

They had no conflict initially, and it would be troubling if one arose because of this.

Laurentina aside, Garde had already come to regarded Saria as a friend.

Who would refuse a friend who stands up for you in times of trouble?

Although it started as a transaction, when he was grappling with Skadi, Saria chose to step in.

That was enough for him!

"Get down!"

Garde's anger this time was delicately balanced.

He felt an urge to tear Skadi apart, but his reason hadn't completely deserted him.

His actions were a bit rough — tearing a hole in Skadi's pants due to excessive force, as it was the only way to push her off.

This woman thigh was surprisingly strong!

Garde wiped his face, not knowing if it was river water, his sweat, or something from Skadi... His face had the imprints of her buttocks, which probably wouldn't fade anytime soon.

With no thighs to clamp his mouth, Garde took a deep breath, the air slightly salty with the scent of the sea.

Skadi, forced into the water, realized her pants were soaked and felt numbness in her legs from the force of the fall.

Touching her bottom, she winced in pain from the handprints Garde had left.

Skadi glanced at Garde.

"Pervert!"

"You are the one who sat on my face!"

Spitting out the sword from his mouth, Garde shouted in frustration.

He couldn't understand if this woman was genuinely naive or pretending.

"You stay here, don't move. I'll deal with those two and then come back for you."

Skadi frowned, finding his words odd.

Why should she listen to him?

Ignoring Skadi, Garde tore off the Sea Terror clinging to him and shredded them.

He barged into the center of Saria and Laurentina's fight, grabbing Laurentina descending circular saw with one hand and catching Saria's fist with the other, separating the two.

"Stop fighting!"

First, he spoke to Laurentina in Aegir language, then to Saria in Columbian: "They are not enemies."

"Not enemies?"

Saria looked puzzled at Skadi in the distance.

If they weren't enemies, why were they fighting?

"It's just a misunderstanding."

Garde took a deep breath, rubbing his swollen head.

His anger had been roused and wouldn't subside anytime soon if not vented.

Laurentina then leaned in close.

"Are you angry?"

"No."

"How about you bully me a bit?"

"No need."

"Then I'll call little Skadi over, let you bully her a bit?"

"She would definitely fight back."

"Hmm, so you do want to bully little Skadi."

Laurentina's finger traced circles on Garde's waist, looking at his face marked by buttocks, still visible.

"She attacked me out of nowhere!"

Behind them, Skadi limped over, touching her bottom upon hearing Garde's words, feeling a bit wronged.

If it weren't for the strange land creature covered in Sea Terror, how could she have mistaken him?

She thought he was a new type of parasitic Seaborn.

"Alright, alright, you didn't lose out, did you?"

Laurentina walked over and hugged Skadi, lifting her chin towards Garde.

"After all, an Agor beauty like little Skadi is rare even among our hunter teams."

"Shark!"

"I know, I know, I'm the guilty one here. Don't really hit me with your sword, I can't take it!"

Laurentina said this without a trace of fear.

"And also, aren't we lucky?"

"Hmm?"

"Because the clue about the second team leader is right before us."

Laurentina patted Garde's sturdy arm and grabbed his hand, moving as lightly as if she were dancing.

"Mr. Crocodile, have you seen my team leader? She's tall and beautiful like me, she's also stronge, but she's far weaker than you, so you better not bully her."

Recalling Gladiia's attitude towards him, Garde wanted to retort.

Who's bullying whom?

"Who exactly are they?"

At this moment, Saria, who had been standing aside, couldn't help but ask.

She didn't understand a word of Garde and Laurentina's conversation but knew that the girl who had just fought with her seemed to know Garde and was quite close to him.

Seeing the girl close to Garde, Saria felt oddly uncomfortable, not understanding why she felt this subtle emotion.

It was like meeting a beautiful woman on the street, having a great conversation, and then finding out she already has a boyfriend.

You might not have thought much about it or even intended to pursue anything further, but instinctively, you feel unhappy and lost.

Faced with the two's questions, Garde chose to answer Saria first.

"The one who fought you earlier is Laurentina. We've known each other for a long time. The other is Skadi; it's our first meeting, so she mistook me for a Seaborn."

"They aren't from a land-dwelling race but from a country called Aegir."

"These Seaborns constantly threaten the safety of Aegir's cities, so Aegir established a team to hunt them — the Abyssal Hunters. They are part of that team."

Garde's words successfully captured Saria's attention. She frowned, searching her mind for information about "Aegir," finally drawing a conclusion.

"The Aegir you're talking about, is it the one in Iberia?"

It made sense for Saria to think so, as Iberia and Sargon are close, with only a deserted wasteland in between, no other countries.

But...

"Didn't Iberia close its borders long ago, forbidding its citizens from going out?"

Moreover, Saria had never heard of such a powerful team in Iberia.

Saria looked at Laurentina, who smiled back when she noticed her gaze.

Saria's arm, where she had collided with the circular saw, started hurting again.

Although she had blocked Laurentina, unless her Originium Arts could continue indefinitely or she could defeat Laurentina within their duration, the outcome was uncertain.

"As for your captain, she's injured."

After explaining to Saria, Garde turned to Laurentina and Skadi.

"Injured?"x2

Both Laurentina and Skadi's voices chimed in simultaneously.

Laurentina's gaze towards Garde was curious because she knew her captain had come for him.

Now Garde stood there intact, but her captain was nowhere to be seen.

She didn't need to guess the outcome.

As for Skadi, her thoughts were simpler.

She glanced around, murmuring to herself.

"So that's why there are so many Seaborns here?"

Garde had no intention of explaining.

With two Abyssal Hunters present, his progress in hunting Seaborns would be much faster.

He might not even need those two researchers from Rhine Lab...

"Wait, where are Mr. Ulysses and Mr. Gene?"

Only when Garde mentioned this did Saria remember.

"They were taken by Survival-3..."

Saria turned her head, but on the vast plains, there was no sign of the engineering vehicle or the two researchers.
