1 A black figure on heels

It was already late night. The road seemed isolated with just a few street lamps blinking on the road. It was cold as every year this time heading for December. It was silent all over. The only clock tower in the middle of the street was heard with it's tik-tok, tik-tok at time intervals. The driver who had been driving in a slow pace came to a halt. The car stopped. The car following next stopped too. The road ahead was covered with big rocks. There seemed to be no road ahead. The driver rubbed his eyes and curved his lips downwards in disgust,

"Sir, where do we head now? There is no road ahead."

An aged man on the backseat glanced at the driver and turned his head to the person sitting next to him,

"Wren, we need to ask someone."

The man who had been quite and was busy with his laptop all this while sighed and lifted his eyebrow. He just nodded.

The aged man looked at his reaction and got down from the car. He walked a little ahead. He looked around but no one was to be seen. He thought he should wait for a while. The street turned out to be even more chilly and silent. Only the stray dogs were heard whining on the road sides. As there was no sign of anyone coming there, the man turned around to go back to the car but then heard a sound of someone walking from a narrow street behind him. This tuck-tuck sound brought a faint hopeful smile on his face. He was about to leave but this sound...so, turned his head to this direction. A black figure on heels was walking into their direction. The man put his gaze on her.

A girl in a high pony was walking over with her head put down and her hands snugged in the pockets of her long brown coat that covered her to the thighs. It was indeed too cold. The girl walked past him without noticing him. Perhaps she ignored him on purpose. The man kept his eyes on her and called her out,

"Hey miss!"

The girl didn't react. She didn't turn. The man then realised she had put on her earphones so he followed her and stood blocking her way.

"Excuse me, maam."

The girl's steps had come to a halt. She slowly lifted her eyes to see this man standing infront of her. She pulled out one of her earphone. Seeing that now she could hear him he continued again,

"Maam, can you please help me with this address?" He was polite. His tone was low and clear.

Saying this he took out a card from his pocket. The girl glanced at the man and then at the card. She took it in her hand and looked at the address on it. It seemed to be an expensive place. She pursed her lips tighter and narrowed her eyes. She finally raised her eyes to the man,

"Uhh, you have come on the wrong way."

Saying so she began explaining him the route. Her soft lips looked lucious enough for anyone to feel the lust of grabbing them. Her voice was soft and melting that one could forget everything around them. Her lashes followed this rythm and her eyes were like ocean where one dip down in them. Wren had been noticing all this from his closed window all this while. He kept staring at the girl. He usually doesn't do this. He is very mindful of his work but all of a sudden this girl actually grasped all his attention. He opened the door and walked out.
