Flowers and Threats

Kenzo woke up early as usual since it's Monday. However, he noticed that his wife isn't in a good mood to go to work. He already finished preparing breakfast but she's still lying on the bed.

"Love, didn't you want to go to work?" He called. She sat up and went to the bathroom without answering his question. He followed her. "What's wrong?"

"I made a mistake… making me violate something in the company." She mumbled. "I already filed a resignation letter two weeks ago. I'm sorry." She mumbled while facing the sink. Kenzo hugged her from behind.

"Then, stay at home? Or do you want to go shopping or some massage?" He asked.

She bit her lips trying to stop herself from crying.

"My boss just called me not to come to the office. He suggested that I should transfer to another site so the issue will dissipate."

"Love, you said that you already resigned." Kenzo kissed her cheeks. "It's a good thing. You'll focus on the passion that you always wanted."

"But what about~~" She was too anxious at the moment.

"Hey," he hugged her tightly. "I'm the man of our family and I'll take care of it. Don't worry about a single thing." He mumbled. "I still got two hours before my work time."

She faced him and smiled tightly.

Kenzo was worried about leaving her in the house but he just did. He drove past the company building. He saw Jacob coming out from his car with a nagging wife. He then went directly to the office, logged in, and went to his workplace. He took out his phone and texted Rose if he could meet her during the break. He started doing his work without stopping.

When his phone chimes, he quickly left for his break. In the cafe two blocks from his wife's office. Rose was already there waiting and he apologized to keep her waiting.

"Thank you, Rose. I wanted to understand my wife better but she isn't telling me what happened." Kenzo said as they waited for their order.

"Well, she's not telling much on what she feels," Rose said. "But the violation includes more people. It's just there is one person or more who wants her out of the company. Victoria is good at handling things. Everyone was very dependent on her with the projects and their presentation." Rose sighed. "I didn't know that she sent a resignation letter before all of these happened. She was burned out with the harassment and scolding from our boss because few officers would just say bad things about her. But then, our boss found out what happened… so, he's trying to save her but she chooses to leave instead."

"I understand. Thank you, Rose."

"How is she?"

"She stayed home."

Their order came as they ate. They spoke more about a few things and he understood more of his wife.

Maverick sighed for the tenth time as he looked at the safe apartment that isn't expensive as he thought. He turned his head to the stuff that he bought for Stacey. She didn't want him to buy things for her, but he just did since she didn't want to. Still, it breaks his heart. But he already bought it just a while ago. He took it to her room. He looked at the mess and decided to clean it. Soon, he'll have to leave her but with that endless make-out in her bed for the whole Sunday night and afternoon.

He smiled by only thinking of it. He then changed the sheets and curtains then put things back to where it is located. He then went down to do the laundry as his phone rang. He answered it.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Mave. Can you do me a favor?" Kenzo asked.

"Yeah, sure."

"Let's meet up at my house. Tell Stacey to have dinner there. Can you make dinner for us? I'll be a little late."

"Sure thing bro."

"My wife is in the house. Just knock."

"Okay. Will do bro."

"I'll also send a car to escort you there. How about in two hours?"

"Sure…" Maverick stared at the washing machine. "Send me things that you wanted me to cook."

"Great. I'll meet you there."

He then called Stacey. She answered after a few rings.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Stace. We are going to have dinner at Kenzo's house. Drive directly there. Okay? I'm leaving in two hours."

"Okay…"

"I'll make your favorite and make sure that you'll make it."

She chuckled.

"Yes, of course," Stacey said flirtatiously.

"Bye, bye…" He hung up and checked the washing machine.

He then started unplugging things around, checked the windows and doors multiple times. His phone chimes with Stacey's message.

Beauty: Release later. *eggplant emoji* *mouth emoji*

Mave: I'll be there between your legs.

He was horny at the moment because of Stacey. He had fallen to her so hard this time. And forever, he'll protect her as long as he's alive.

The car that Kenzo sent came with a photo of the car and the photo of the driver for his safety. The driver wasn't chatty and he focused more on the road without questioning him. He was kind enough to say that there are drinks. He just needed to press a button. However, he thanked him and didn't drink a single bottle afraid that he'll get poisoned or something. He may be paranoid but he's just being careful.

When he reached home, Victoria opened the door for him. Then, suddenly a motorbike came with flowers.

"Miss Jaya Victoria Parson?" The driver asked.

"Yes?"

Victoria checked it.

"Who sent it?"

"I just deliver ma'am. There's no name of the sender."

She signed papers and the driver left. Victoria took it inside the house as she called Kenzo. After a few rings, Kenzo answered.

"Love, did you send me flowers?"

"No," Kenzo said on the other line. "Someone sent you flowers?"

"Yes." She mumbled and it had a card.

"Open it," Maverick said.

She put down the flowers as she opened the card. She creased her brows when she read it.

Dreaming of you while I was between your legs is the best thing I had that night.

She shuddered and quickly put it away. Maverick removed his mask and took it. Victoria's phone slid down from her hands. Maverick's reflexes were fast as he caught it. Maverick answered Kenzo's call.

"There's a creepy sender of the flowers." He said. "I got the driver's plate number, what do you want me to do?"

"Hack the system of the flower shop if you could. And put away the flowers." Kenzo said.

"Got it."

Maverick gave it to Victoria as she shakily placed it to her ear.

"Love, Maverick is there to make dinner. Forget about those flowers. I'll let Maverick take it away. Okay?"

"O—okay…" She stammered. She watched as Maverick took away the flowers. "What time are you coming home?"

"I'll be home before you know it. What do you want me to get for you?"

"Uh~~anything love."

"Okay, I love you."

"I love you."

Victoria hung up and turned to Maverick.

"Don't worry, Lady Victoria, you can just relax while I'll take care of everything."

"You don't have to," Victoria said shyly.

"I got paid for this." He winked at her.

Victoria sighed as she followed Maverick into the kitchen.

"There are leftovers from yesterday that we could remake," Maverick said.

"Please teach me." She smiled at him tightly. "I'm unemployed and I wanted to help Kenzo. So, he won't wake up early to make breakfast."

Maverick smiled like he'd been touched by her words although he wasn't the husband. Kenzo was surely a lucky man. He wrapped up the flowers first. She let him settle first. She went upstairs to her room as sat down on her bed. She sighed and thought about the creepy words. She shuddered by just thinking about it. It wasn't her husband. And of course, people would think that she's a flirt when someone would send her flowers that aren't from her husband.

"V!" Maverick called. She went downstairs after composing herself. Then, she smiled at him. "I won't ask if you are okay, but the apron is perfect for me."

She chuckled.

"I bought that for Kenzo since the sizes of the apron that I bought didn't fit on him."

"Okay, put your apron first, tie your hair up and wash your hands before we start."

Victoria did as Maverick told. Then, she thought of the flowers and the letters again but then Maverick started discussing things on what to do with the leftovers. She nodded at it as she helped him by removing the meat of the turkey from the bones.

"So, Kenzo didn't like any special food. He didn't mention it to me."

"Well, Kenzo said that he loves specific foods. However, he said that he can't be picky with any foods since there are times that we are starving."

"And what food is it?"

He thought for a while.

"I don't remember but I think it's something French. He said that his mother always made it on his birthday. No one knows how to make it except his mother. So, I guess that his mother made the recipe."

"Okay, I got it. But we can find it out, right?"

"We'll try." He winked at her.
