Chapter Fourteen: Dinner With The Alpha

Jackia's Point Of View

Layla was pissed off by my statement as she stood up after banging her cutleries on the table

"I can see you also lack manners, you can't just stand up and decide to be a nuisance to everyone right at the table" I said to her but, I guess she gets away with everything she does at home as she didn't respond to me.

She lifted her gown as she was almost running to her room. leaving the rest of the maidens to stare at me with their mouths open.

I looked up at them as they stared and my wolf decided to make matters worse as she whispered to me.

" Look at them, silly unmannered ladies who are not fit to become the Luna '' I had to hide my laughter and just continued to chat with her, even while I ate my food, "isn't that too much for the Nobel's daughters?" I said to her

" Oh please we both know that they are the laziest amongst all women" Sarai my wolf said,

I got my wolf on my eighteenth birthday, which was not the happiest moment of my life after my father had tortured me with words, as some of my close friends could already transform at seventeen.

The maidens eventually finished their meal but I left before them, as I could no longer bear the killer looks coming my way. My Maid followed me as I made my way right out of the room ,

" Miss Jackia, I think you should wear this for tonight, the alpha isn't the one that goes for flashy things as he loves simplicity".

Well that was one advantage I have over the other women who would want to look their best for tonight. And I wouldn't be surprised if someone comes to the dinner with a lot of cleavage to show.

"Are you sure about these? Most of the clothes you choose for me are more like simple wears". I asked her as she smiled and came to sit right next to me on the bed, but when she realised what she had done she quickly stood up and tried to compose herself,

"Oh no ,don't do that with me, please sit and tell me everything".

I patted the space right beside me and she reluctantly sat down close to me.

"Are you sure about this choice of clothes?" I asked after fixing my gaze on her.

"Yes I am sure of these, you're free with me, I want to hear everything you have to say, most especially about the palace"

I smiled to her as her face lightened up and she continued

"You see, the alphal isn't the one you want to entice into liking you, every maids have tried their luck with him but they all failed, he is kind to everyone of us and had the best interest of our kingdom at hand"

" Hmmmh, I see but so if I put on this weird looking simple dress I will have his interest at heart right?" We both laughed at my statement as she shook her head in response.

After that we just sat there and stared into the air.

"Well I know you might not like it here, but, I trust you're good for the alpha and he is a good man, I tell you that" she said with so much sincerity and I could see through her eyes that she loved him genuinely to want to get him to be with the right person.

We stared right at each other and it was more like, a sister trying to look out for her small sister

" What's your name " I asked her and she responded politely

" My name Is Fisher".

I saw a flash of light when she mentioned this name and I was taken aback but, I didn't see it again. It was like it never happened as she smiled right at me and I smiled back.

" Alright Fisher, I will try my best".

I laid my back right on the bed and my hair sprawled widely on the bed. The bed was more soft that what I was used to, I might not get used to it so early, because the one at the training ground was harder which was not easy for me to get used to as well.

We laid on my bed for quite a long time and didn't know when we both slept off, only to hear a banging noise from outside.

I sprang up immediately prompt and ready to attack the intruder, Fisher also stood looking frightened only to hear a voice from outside ,

"Fisher, are you there? You are late for dinner, the alpha and the rest are waiting for you". The person on the other side said.

Fisher's eyes shone as she quickly dragged me to the washroom and helped me to wash up and got me dressed. We weren't going for a flashy look so it was easier to get ready in ten minutes.

I was now ready to meet with the Alpha as Fisher helped me to hold my dress's up as my hair was packed up, giving me freedom from my long hair while I was eating. We walked down to the hall, where the dinning was going on. As soon as we got there, everyone's eyes fell on me .

" I am sorry your highness, please punish her and not me " Fisher said before I could say anything. I looked to her surprise

"No your grace, I am at fault , I refused to get ready on time as I wanted to enjoy my sleep. I apologise"

I could see the happy look on the maidens faces and knowing fully well that all of them would help to blend with the alpha.

"It's okay , you can come join us, we were waiting for you anyways the alpha said, and I responded

''Thank you ".

I made my way to the vacant chair which was right beside an unfamiliar face, but my attention was drawn back to the alpha as he addressed us

" I thank you maidens for leaving your beautiful lives on hold for me. I can't be more grateful for this. Once more you are welcome to my palace and please enjoy yourselves".

" We all know I would be choosing just one out of the five of you at the end of this ceremony". He said as he looked at every maiden and his last stare landed on me as our eyes met. I quickly looked away to see Layla staring angrily at me . But I wasn't bothered about that as the Alpha continued to speak.

"Let's get on with dinner for now ".

We picked up our cutleries and dived into the food , the other maidens were used to table etiquettes while I wasn't. I made use of my spoon and waited for them to finish up with their meal.

It didn't take long for the Alpha to finish his meal. He helped Layla up from her seat and walked towards the room next to the dinning hall.

No one knew if we should leave or not, but I couldn't just sit still as I made my move to leave but my maid came over and whispered in my ear .

Making me feel ashamed of trying to leave in the first place.

"Miss Jackia you cannot leave just yet, the Alpha will meet with every maiden tonight, one after the other, so please wait patiently for your turn," she said as I sat down back and waited for my turn .

Each maiden that went in all came out blushing like they went In there and met the moon goddess herself. When it was finally my turn, since I was the last person to go see him, I was having doubts in mind, but it would be rude if I didn't go .

I made my way to the room, it was like a private room with comfortable chairs in it, I didn't look at the person in the room, but how the interior of the room was what caught my attention. I sat down there and waited for the Alpha to speak.

" You must be Jackia?" The Alpha asked, bringing my attention towards him.

"Yes I am I said as i walked towards him,

"Please sit" he said as he patted the chair right beside him. I pulled the chair away from him and sat down far away.

" I see you don't want to be here and how painful it must be not to be made the elite warrior after what you have gone through at the training ground. I bet I know how painful it is to lose what you worked so hard to achieve" the way he said those words seemed to be like he wanted to tease me .

" Well I guess you do "

I said to him with tears in my eyes, only if he knew what it meant deep down

" I promise you that I do understand. I will make everything possible for you, if you try not to win at the ceremony". I looked at him and laughed.

" How is that even possible? I will eventually lose my position as the elite warrior even if I don't even win the mate games. I would be considered weak after all ".

I stood up to leave

"This is just a waste of my time, you should stop this silly ceremony if you so much don't want to participate, you are the alpha, stand your ground" but Sarai wasn't in agreement with my words as she growled slowly in disagreement.

" Sarai this isn't the time for this " she immediately sat still and my attention was brought back to the alpha who said

" I guess I am not the only one who wants out then, let's find a way to get you out of here , and that is by losing the games".

I laughed

" Listen, I can help you be who you want to be just agree to these terms" he said

" Alright " I responded as I made my way out lifting my gown as high as I could. I needed to be out of there in no time.

But as soon as I came out I bumped into someone and it was Layla. I wasn't in the mood to talk to anybody as I quickly walked past her back into my room.
