CHAPTER 51 Refusing the Proposal

　　Elena's POV

　　Luke maintained his elite demeanor on the surface. If it weren't for the mind link from the mate bond, I would have a hard time noticing that he was feeling upset and aggrieved due to the argument that persisted between us.

　　"Just yesterday, the Pasquale Pack was officially merged into Embermoon Pack. I felt it my duty to inform everyone,"

　　Luke announced this news as soon as he spoke, causing a stir of discussion. I heard some people say that he was the Alpha King of the year.

　　It was good news, but whenever my eyes fell on him, I felt inexplicably angry.

　　The meeting proceeded orderly with Luke's low voice as prominent in it as it usually was, until it ended, and everyone began to pack up their files and prepare to leave. I stood up too, but didn't dare to make eye contact with Luke throughout the whole process.

　　"Smack."

　　I don't know whose folder made an impolite sound, and everyone's attention was drawn to Luke.
