CHAPTER 25 Magic Paint
Elena's POV
"I mean, I've already agreed to go to Raine's succession ceremony with Gabriel," I said. My words clearly surprised Luke, and his handsome face showed a rare look of shock. It made me feel a little amused.
Luke immediately wrapped his arm a little tighter around my shoulder and pulled me closer. His brow furrowed as he thought about how to phrase his words a little more gently. After hesitating for a while, he finally spoke up. "You still can't let go of him, can you?"
I looked at him seriously, my eyes blinking as I reached up to hook my hand around his neck. "Luke, it's not that, I promise you. I just have some things I need to do at the succession ceremony."
"Hmm? And what might those be?" he asked.
I took out the emerald necklace I had been carrying with me and told him about the poisoning incident that had occurred in the pack. As he studied the necklace, I explained further.
