Crutches

France, September 30th 1803

9:33 AM

Lukas was walking through the camp with the help of his crutches. His partners had already departed to the battlefield.

Despite his efforts, trying to convince all of them that he was fine, and that he could keep going, nobody listened to him, and practically forced Lukas to stay there and rest, at least for that one day.

'...Herman was a bit confused yesterday, then. He asked me if I wanted to carry out that mission today. I guess I shouldn't have told him I need to recover,' Lukas thought.

Lukas didn't want to admit it, but it was frustrating to think that everyone was out there fighting, and that he was here, without doing anything, just because he had lost his focus and got hurt.

Lukas took a deep breath. 'I wonder if other people also feel the same way. I don't know, I'm probably the only one who's that diligent,' he thought.
