Chapter 1Chapter 1

In a faraway world, in a peaceful place inhabited by monsters, there was a girl. A wolf-eared girl, she was a cute little thing, probably around 7 years old. Her hair was dark gray and flowed down her back, stopping around her stomach area.

She always smiled because she had no reason to frown. She had loving parents, a roof over her head, and food in her stomach. That's all that she could ever ask for in her short life, and she loved it.

This is the start of this little girl's adventure. Her story she personally witnessed and wrote as she lived and survived.

One day in this faraway world, on an island with a small village of Beastmen, there was a tiny wooden home with two bedrooms and a kitchen and a little wolf-eared girl.

"Good morning Dada!"

"There's my little cookie! Come over to your old man and spare him some of your precious time." Said a large wolf-eared man, who was sitting at a small wooden table.

"Yes!" The little girl smiled as she shuffled over, rubbing her big eyes and eventually extending her hands to be picked up and placed on the wolf-eared man's lap.

"Darla, do you need any help in the kitchen?" Said the man as he patted the little girl's head, turning towards a beautiful orange-haired woman with another pair of ears who was cooking what seemed to be pancakes.

The beautiful woman looked up from her activity and smiled as she looked towards the duo sitting at the table. "I got it. I'll be out in a second!"

Right as she said that, she flung the pancake out of the pan. Turned towards a plate filled with pancakes and a bottle of honey and brought them over towards the table.

"Hey little munchkin, good morning!" Said the woman as she placed the food on the table and sat in a squeaky wooden chair.

The little girl smiled as she jumped down from her father's lap and ran towards her mother with her hands stretched out in front of her to give her mother a nice warm bear hug!

"Good morning Mama!" The little girl smiled as she looked up and buried her head in her mom's embrace.

After the little wolf-eared girl got her good morning hugs from her two favorite people, she detached herself from her mother and sat in the last chair that surrounded the old wooden table. The trio then ate their breakfast together with wide smiles as they chatted and laughed.

"Dada, can I go boat with you today?" asked the little girl as she had remnants of a pancake on her cheek.

The man laughed as he looked at his wife, "I don't know, you're gonna have to ask your mother if you can come with me."

"I think it's fine as long as you are sure no storms are coming in today." Said the woman as she looked at her little cookie, staring daggers at a piece of pancake that kept falling off her fork.

The little girl looked up from her plate when she heard that and gave a bright smile to her mother. "I can go play with the fishies!" She said as she hurriedly shoved the rest of her food in her mouth and jumped down from her chair, running off towards her room.

The duo smiled as they saw their little girl as happy as a bee. "Make sure you take care of her, Daren." The mom said as she stood up and started to clear the table, "I want to be able to see her be this happy for the rest of our lives."

Daren smiled as he heard this, "I think the world would end if a frown were on our little cookies face." Said Daren as he stood up and walked towards the door. A coat was hung up next to it, and a pile of shoes was stuffed in the corner.

As the duo cleaned up the kitchen and got ready for fishing, the little girl came running back from her room wearing a dark brown coat and a makeshift fishing rod slung across her shoulder.

"I'm ready!" Said the little girl as she skipped her way towards her father, who was holding out one of his hands.

He smiled as he said, "Say goodbye to your mother first, then we can go play with some fishies!"

The girl stopped in her tracks as she looked left and right to spot her mother, who apparently was now hiding behind a counter. "Where did she go?" Asked the little girl.

The man shrugged as he grinned at the little girl. "I guess you are going to have to find her!" He said as he crossed his arms and started whistling at the front door.

"Mama!" screamed the little girl as she zoomed around the house, looking in her room and her parent's room before looking under the table, finally making her way over towards the kitchen where the counter is. "Where did she go?" whispered the little girl as she skipped over towards the kitchen.

As soon as she crossed a specific squeaky board, she got picked up out of what seems to be nowhere and was given a big bear hug. "I'm right here, you little cutie pie!" Said her mom as she hugged her little girl. The mom smiled as she said, "Make sure you take care of your dad. He can be clumsy sometimes."

She then set down the wolf-eared girl who zoomed off towards her father, who was still waiting for her at the door. "Ready to go, kiddo?" Asked the dad as he saw his little girl grab his hand.

"Let's go then!" He exclaimed as he turned to open the door. "We will see you this evening Darla." said the man as he waved at his wife before closing the door.

Just like that, the duo walked through their small little coastal town. They received the occasional wave as they made their way towards the shabby little dock with a small 15-foot boat. The dad picked up his little girl and placed her in the boat. The little girl watched as her dad brought over water, rope, food, and buckets for their one-day adventure.

After they made their preparations, the dad got in the boat. "Ready to set off?" He asked the little girl, practically vibrating on the seat with a bright smile on her face.

"Yes!" She exclaimed as the dad nodded his head and detached the little boat from the shabby dock. "Let's go then!" said the dad as they made their way into the ocean.

The water was a beautiful light blue, with no waves on the still water. It was an odd occurrence. The ocean winds usually create waves, even if they were small. Though today there were none. No waves, just beautiful water. Half a circle rose from the horizon as an orange light from the sun shone on the water. The sky was painted a soft tone of orange as the duo slowly made their way out towards the ocean. You could hear the occasional laugh and snort from the small wooden fishing boat.

The little girl looked around at the water with a bright smile on her face. She looked down at the side of the boat and saw large fish swimming side by side with their little boat, occasionally jumping out of the water and showing off to the duo as they did simple tricks, making the little girl laugh her heart out.

"We are almost there!" said the little girl's dad. "Can you help me with the net?" He asked

The little girl nodded her head as she solemnly and seriously went to retrieve the net for her father, helping him untangle and bait it. After the preparation, they chucked it in the water and went back to enjoying the view.

"I will never get tired of this job." said the man as he looked at the sunrise on the horizon. It's too beautiful." He smiled.

The little girl looked towards the rising sun as she lost herself in its beauty. "It's just like mom!" She exclaimed!

The man laughed at her comparison and nodded his head. "Your right. They both are beautiful." He smiled as he looked at his little wolf-eared girl.

After getting lost in the sun's beauty, she turned her head back towards her father, who wasn't there. He disappeared. The little girl frowned as she thought of this morning and the possibility of her father doing the same thing her mother did.

She stood up from her seat and smiled inwardly as she thought she discovered her father's trick and looked around the small wooden boat, looking through every small little corner or crevice that was hidden. But she still couldn't find her father...

She frowned as the little wolf-eared girl went to the edge of the boat and looked down to see if he fell in the water. But to her surprise, he wasn't there. He wasn't on the boat nor in the water. He was gone.

Tears welled up in the little girl's big round eyes as she started to sniffle and cry. All she said was "Dada" in a soft voice as she found herself stuck and alone in the middle of the ocean. The island behind her was gone. All that she could see was a blue desert with no oasis in sight.
