Pain

At the Kapoor's Mansion,

"Dad please, help me see her. I just want to see papa,kripaya(please),"Ishaani was in tears.

All she wanted was to see her baby girl and nothing more. She went on her knees while in tears and her father's heart softened. He did not want to see his favorite child cry but what could he do?

He did not want to go to Maverick unsumoned, moreso after what his wife and daughters did but he did not want to see his daughter suffer this much.

She looked lean and pale. He knew she was hurting and that was an enough punishment for her.

"Come here my child.."he called her with such an endearment in his voice and Ishaani moved closer.

"Please papa!"she exclaimed in low and emotional voice.Mr Kapoor patted his daughter's back soothingly.

"I will do everything I can so that you see her my dear,"he assured her and she stayed there for a while before leaving for her room.

In a certain apartment in New York,

Addison was seated on the sofa with her attention on her laptop before her. She did not feel like going to the office today and so she decided to work from home. But she did not care to call in sick.She was the daughter of the C.E.O and she did as she pleased and she would do even more but her dad was ever on her neck.

She would not have worked completely today but she knew her dad would bother her with his annoying lectures and threats so she decided to work from home.

She was madly bored while reading one work email that her secretary had sent when her phone buzzed on the couch,beside her.

She rolled up her eyes when she saw the name 'dad' flash on the screen.

"Dad!"she called when she received the call.

"Why are you not at work?"The voice from the other side of the call asked.

"Dad am sick,I could not come to work but am working from home,"she informed him.

"You know you can be a pathetic liar Addison and I dislike the fact that you don't take your job seriously. You did not call in sick and am sure you are very fine. If I don't see you here tomorrow,I will cancel all your credit cards!"he growled quietly then hunged up the phone.

She was already used to this side of her father.

"This old man!"she cursed silently.

Izara had been listening to her conversation the whole time and she was not surprised at all. She rolled up her eyes and walked to the bedroom.

She was tired of this girl's attitude and she hated it that she was just here because she did not have anywhere else to go at the moment and not because she wanted to be here.

She sat on the bed and stared at the laptop before her. She was using one of Addison's laptop to watch. She sometimes logged in to her social media pages and she would end up crying when she saw her pictures and that of her sister, Nathan and her mother.

She had seen how everyone insulted her sister after the rumor Lisa Xing posted about her and she hated herself from that day. She hated that she was the one who actually put her sister in that situation.

She was the reason for everything that was happening at the moment and she regretted it.

*Sob* sob*

She could not hold her sobs as she thought how she got herself and her family in such a position.

"Am sorry Serene..."she sobbed while hugging her knees closely.

She was now beginning to hate everything. She hated herself and even her feelings towards Addison changed and she knew it was not only because of her attitude but because of the hatred emitting from deep down of her.

At the living room,Addison heard the sobs. She frowned and put the laptop on the glass table before her. She knew that Izara was still mad at her about the 'alarm argument' but she had apologized. She thought she was crying because of that.

She ran upstairs. The bedroom door was ajar and Izara was sitted on the bed hugging her knees tightly,while burying her head in her thighs.

"Am sorry Serene...am sorry mom!"she heard her mumble between her cries and she felt for her. She could only imagine running away from home and her sister falling into her bad fate,though she did not even have a sister but an annoying brother.

She walked closer and wrapped her hands around her shoulders.

"Hey.. everything is going to be okay. Everything will be fine,"she spoke in a low soft voice.

"It's not Addy. How can anything be fine now. Am sure mom is so unhappy now and I know my sister hates me now!"she sobbed.

Addison did not know what to say to make her feel better. She personally hates Calista with everything in her. Her beauty was threatening and Maverick scolded her just because she slapped her. She hated her so much that she could not mention her just to make Izara feel better.

"It's alright..."was all she could say when she did not know what to say.

Izara leaned onto Addison's shoulder and cried there until she finally calmed down and went to sleep.

Sage got ready for work. She had to go her boutique before uploading her new fashions on her social media pages.

She went to the dinning table and found Casey, Taylor,her mother and Jayden already having breakfast.

"Morning everyone.."she greatest then sat beside Jayden.

"Morning captain,"she greeted him while shuffling his hair.

The boy gave her a cute smile then responded cheerfully at her.

"Morning too aunt.You look beautiful as always!"he complimented making everyone at the table smile.

"Oh-hoo. Does that mean am not beautiful?"Taylor asked him faking a sad face.

"Ofcourse you are aunt Thaylor and so is aunt Sage and so is mom and grandma as well."

He spoke and they all chuckled at how he pronounced the name,Taylor.

Casey smiled at the little boy.

"That's very true baby,now finish up your breakfast so that I can take you to school or you will be late,"Casey spoke.

Jayden nodded and gave attention to his food.

"I will take him to school today..is that okay captain?"Sage asked and the boy nodded cheerfully.

He loved it when she took him to school. She would stock his bag with snacks before they reached the school.

"Thank aunt Sage...promise to drive fast today,"he spoke and she promised him before the table fell silent again.

Sage took his lunch box and his bag and walked out of the house while holding his soft little hand. She stopped at a Super Matt and bought him snacks as much as he wanted before taking him to school.

"Will you come pick me up?"he asked innocently and she promised to pick him up if she won't be busy.

She was driving to work when her phone rang..

"Yes Jack.."

Jack is his most trusted man in her crew. He was good in his work and she trusted him. She had handed him the responsibility of finding out about who killed her brother, Fabian.

Jack worked hand in hand with Maverick's men and she was expecting a positive feedback now as she listened to him.

"We found something boss...we suspect that Sir Fabian's murderer was Mr Hudson,"he responded.

Sage stepped on the brakes unconsciously and the car halted. She did not expect that at all.

"Tom Hudson?!"she asked trying to get herself calm.

"Yes boss,"he responded and Sage gulped the lump that just formed in her throat. Tears welled up. They have been investigating this for the past five years. No wonder they took so long.

Thomas Hudson has always been their closet family friend and he was the last person she suspected.

"Dig him and give me a definite answer,"she spoke calmly and the call ended.

She quickly dialed Maverick's number and was received at the second ring.

"You at work?"she asked when he received the call.

"Yeah... everything okay?"he asked when he heard how down she sounded. He knew his sister too well to know that she was trying hard not to burst to sobs.

"Jack called me..." she broke down at that statement and he understood her pain. They all loved Fabian. No one would have asked for a better brother than him.

"Yeah..am aware of everything already Sage,"he responded he too swallowing the lump in his throat.

He was never so sensitive with anything as he was when it came to his late brother's case.

"Am coming to the office,"Sage spoke.

Maverick heard the honks from her side and wondered where she was.

Sage was getting bothered with the honks the other drivers were giving her.

"Calm down you filthy things!"she shouted at the other drivers before roaring her engine back to life.

Maverick chuckled.

"You don't have to vent your anger on everyone. I will be coming to your office instead,"he told her and she agreed.

"That's even better...please be careful,"she spoke before hanging up the phone.
