Introduction I

Calista's POV

My eyes flew open taking in all the bright light at once. I blinked several times as a result.

I sat up on the bed and checked the time on the alarm clock.

9:48 am.

I smiled.

Whenever I slept this much,I would always wake up feeling so strangely happy. I stretched myself and got off the bed.

The sun had already risen and the whole room was light yellow,or maybe light orange color. I smiled again taking in deep breathes.

Yeah,too many smiles I know. But I can't help it.

I love summer! and am feeling so damn happy. Maybe it's because I had such a beautiful night sleep after so many days.

I did not have a nightmare today but I had a dream. I don't know if it's a good dream or a bad dream but atleast it was not a nightmare...

In the dream, I was walking down the aisle in a beautiful wedding gown. The gown was pure white and it flew all the way to the floor. I was holding flowers in my hands and beside me was grandma and grandpa.

But why not mum!!

I woke up before I could even see where mum was or who my groom was but still was happy when I woke up.

I somehow hoped that it was not Maverick who was my groom. Am afraid I would die or loose everyone I love before that dream comes to pass.

Anyways,to hell with the dream.

I got off the bed and went to the bathroom to have shower. I stared at myself on the mirror and yesterday's memory came flooding in my mind.

FLASHBACK

"I expected that you would come running into my arms. You kept asking when I would be coming home and I believed that you really wanted to see me or maybe you...missed me,"Maverick spoke with a smirk on but his voice did not sound that amused.

I really wanted to ignore him. Let him talk to his fullest then leave but my silly mouth could not just keep shut.

"Am I not too young to die?"my silly mouth blabbered before I could even think of what to say.

I saw a deep frown on his forehead. Ofcourse he did not know what I was talking about unless he asked his silly girlfriend to threaten me.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

His face still held the same frown and his eyes were narrowed at me.

What is it that he did not understand in what I said.

I stood up from the bed and walked closer to him forgetting that my dress was transparent due to its lightness.

I saw his eyes widen abit the his mouth opened as though he wanted to say something then he shut it.

I did not know the cause of that reaction,maybe he did not know what to respond.

"..or did you ask that shameless, desperate,freaking,creepy girlfriend of yours to threaten me. Tell her to do as she pleases with me but please let her keep her silly hands away from my mum and sister,"I hissed looking straight at his eyes,which were not even looking at me but I cared less to know what he was looking at.

"So did you just go deaf or something?"I asked getting irritated.

Okay I hate this about myself,I hate it when I get irritated about something. I simply can't keep my voice in my voice box and all my serene nature vanishes as though it was never there.

He looked up at my eyes. They were not as cold as they always were and his expression was not so stoic as his normal expression. Both his eyes and his expression held something else...warmth?

I doupt.

"If you asked her to threaten me then it worked. But I wonder...I wonder what you are doing a low life's room at this time. I have been avoiding you so as not to end up seducing you and here you are. Do you want to be seduced?"I moved a step closer to him and he frowned again.

"What the hell are you talking about?"his eyes narrowed again at me. He finally looked at my eyes when talking.

"Oh Mr Innocent!?.. please get out of my room Roy,"I spoke then regretted why I even called him Roy.

I regretted why I even asked him to get out of my room. I really wanted him to stay. I had really missed him but I could not even hug him.

'Please don't go!'I screamed in my mind but my eyes stared at him intently waiting for him to turn and leave the room.

A smirk appeared on his cute kissable pink lips.

"With this dress you are wearing...I can also say that you are trying to seduce me!"he spoke then moved closer.

My eyes widened with shock and embarrassment. Ofcourse one would think that way but I did not expect to see him and when he got in, my anger took the best of me and forgot about what I was wearing. I flew my hands to my chest and covered my breasts.

He bent a little his lips grazing my cheeks in the process. I stiffened at the spark that our little contact sent down my whole body.

"I think you body missed me as well.Goodnight Ren!"he whispered in my ear then kissed my cheek.

I almost lost my breath when he whispered in my ears but when he kissed my cheek,my legs jellied.

I quickly washed up and did my facial and oral care.

Getting into my closet,I picked a black palazzo with multi colored flowers and plain white shirt. I matched it with a pair of white sandals.

I tied my hair into a loose bun and walked out of the room with my headphones on.

Dancing and singing along the way,I forgot about threats and everything.

I love this song Sorry by Justin Bieber and that is what I was singing and dancing along with.

"I'm sorry!"

I was singing along when my eyes fell on Millie and Cindy walking towards me. I paused the song and took off the headphones,settling them on my neck.

"Morning ma'am,"they bowed with smiles on.

Only I know how these girls have made me feel at home here.

"Morning ladies! Where to?"I asked them with a smile.

"We were coming to your room for cleaning ma'am and sir needs to see you now at his office,"Cindy responded.

"Thank you girls. See you around!"I tried to cheer up after knowing that Maverick wanted to see me. What would be more annoying than seeing the man who literally saw me naked just the other night.

"Well Calista,you better get used to seeing him,"I spoke to myself as I walked towards the office.

I knocked on the door and got in when I heard a 'Come in!'

"Morning Roy. You called?"I spoke when I stepped inside the office. Maverick placed the phone on the table and looked at me.

He was quite for a while,studying me before he motioned for me to sit. I sat opposite him and mastered all my courage to look at him after yesterday's embarrassing scene.

"I did and am glad you are willing to see me and talk today!" there was a bit of mockery in his voice and his annoying smirk.

I gazed at his face before looking at the cream colored wall behind him.

"We will be traveling to New York today,"he spoke.

'What!' my mind screamed but my eyes remained glued on his charming face and my mouth shut. New York? Will I be meeting that Melinda woman!?

And why is he telling me this now?

He glanced at his wrist watch then spoke again.

"In an hour..."

Crap!! One hour! Just an hour!?

"Why are we even moving around like some nomads and that without even asking me if am okay with it? Am I slave now who is ordered around?"I found my running mouth already blabbering. Too late to take it back.

I gulped and waited for him to say and do his worst.

"One, I don't have to inform you about the moves I want to make and you following me around should be an honor for you. And second, my grandpa landed in New York yesterday from Russia and he wants to see his granddaughter in law and third,it's still one hour,"he spoke.

Was he trying to clarify some things or were we just moving around the same thing. What he said was no different to what he said earlier.

I was now fuming in my seat.

What does this annoying man think about himself? Lucky is he that it's about his old man otherwise,I would not move an inch from this place!

"We can leave even right now. Am ready,"I scoffed at him them stood to leave his now hot office.

I heard him chuckle then speak.

"Will you go like that?"he asked sounding amused.

I looked at myself then back at him. It seems he had a problem with what I was wearing.

"Seems like my dear husband has a problem with what am wearing but suit yourself darling because this is how am leaving this house!"I retorted with a smirk then left the office.

If he think that only he can retort around then I already inherited his always retorting mouth.
