Chapter 5: Departure

We finally got home, and I gave my parents a hug and told them I loved them. We sat on the couch and I started telling them the news. " I met Kaia my mother. I have 3 brothers. Fury the oldest 5 years older. Dylan a year younger than fury and Aiden 5 years younger than me. When I went missing is around the time he was being born. Kaia was on another ship thankfully when Aiden was born. We leave in a month. So I will do everything I can to stay here unless they call me to help them get ready. I guess that my brother Fury was just like Elias is with me. When I went missing he was furious. He was 10 years old at the time I was lost. He searched like crazy calling my name but I was so far gone I couldn't hear or see him or the other way around. When I was on the ship a couple months ago, he wanted to come aboard, but Kaia didn't think it was best at the time. So they are good people. Its just I have been gone so long they don't know what to do." "I'm glad I decided to go with them. I finally get a chance to know my brothers I haven't known for so long. Even with my memories I probably wouldn't remember them." So we spent some time as family like normal.

It had finally been a month. It was time to get ready to leave. We were all headed to the ship so Mom dad and my siblings can say goodbye and my parents could meet Kaia and my brothers.

We Finally got to the ship and Cliff was out so he Yelled. "Kaia! Boys! Out of the ship a minute!" I heard running from my brothers and Kaia walked as normal. "Hello. You all must be Kai's brothers." Then they introduced themselves. " I heard from Kai you were protective over him Fury." said Dad. "Yeah well he was my baby brother. I didn't want anything to happen to him." Then Kaia came out. "Hello there. Nice to meet the parents who took our son in. Thank you so much for taking care of him." They both shook Kaia's hand. "Its nice to meet you too. We couldn't leave a child wondering around alone not knowing where his mommy went." "Mom. Did you really need to tell her that? Its embarrassing." "Sorry Kai. I just told her the truth." Elias and Rin started chuckling as they were watching the scene with Kai looking happy. " Oh before we go, I need to tell Rin something alone please if you guys don't mind. Hey mom can we use the car?" "Yes go get the car. Just don't take long. I'm sure they want to leave soon. Oh brother. He is going to be a handful isn't he?" said mom. "Haha. Sorry about that. He gets that part from my side of the family." Said Kaia. "He gets the stubbornness from both sides." Said Cliff.

We got the car and went to the beach one last time before I left. We sat by the place I got up from on land. " Hey Rin? I have been meaning to tell you this but a little shy do say it. Ever since you told me we were family I had this feeling we weren't blood related. I have started having this strange feeling like every time I'm around you I want to get my memories back. I want to know who I am. I was going to wait until I got my memory back but, I want to tell you now. I feel wierd because we grew up like brother and sister but I love you." I blushed bright red. "I love you like romantically." "Hehe. I know what you mean Kai. Well thank you. I sort of love you too." "What do you mean sort of?" "Well you will find out soon enough when you get back maybe." "I will miss you and Elias. I don't know when I will be back. Will you wait for me?" "Kai. Elias and I will be waiting. I will wait everyday by this place. When Elias is free he will wait here with me. Well we should probably get going." "Yeah. Lets go." So we drove back to the port and stepped on it.

We finally got back to the port and I ran to the deck. "Sorry it took so long. I had some things to talk to her about. Well I guess its time to go. Elias be good. Don't give mom and dad too much trouble. Rin. Don't be so annoying. Haha. Just kidding. Seriously though I don't want to see Elia's so annoyed with you he is worn out." I gave mom and dad a hug then I kissed Rin on the cheek and Elias saw. "So that's how it is now. Oh brother." Said Elias hitting his head. "Take care of Kai for us boys!" said Elias. "We will see you around." Said Dylan. I waved until they were out of sight.

I walked away from the edge and sat down on a barrel. "Hey Kai. How you doing?" said Fury. "Huh? Sorry I'm doing fine. It was my decision after all. Yeah I miss them but until I get my memory back I can't really do anything. My last memory I saw was a ship I am assuming was the one that busted in a storm. I was thinking that if I saw some of the crew and the captain my memory would come back. I'm not saying it will come back right away, but at least by bits and Pieces. Now that I am speaking of the Captain. I need to see him. Do you know where he is?" "Yeah he's at the helm. I'll take over for him if you need to talk to him." "Yeah. Thanks Fury." So I waited for the old man.

I saw the captain head towards me. "Hello Captain. Sorry for all the trouble of you guys looking for me twice in a row." "Its not your fault kid. So you can't remember anything at all huh? I wish I could loose some of the things I remember. So what is the last thing you remember. May me and the crew can help you." "Well the first thing I remembered was my name and that is all. When I went to the port I remembered being in a ship. When Rin and Elias found me, I was drifting off a mile away from the beach they were at. I swam to shore and they took me home. That's all I remember. I'm sorry. I know you lost a lot of men back then." "Its fine kid. Well I could tell you what happened. I'm sure Cliff told you their was a storm right?" "Yeah he did." "Well he's right there was. That day your father Cliff grabbed your hand trying to keep you from falling off the ship. He fell in with you. He let go just for a minute and you were too far gone for any of us to get you. We looked to where you might have floated off too but nothing. Then as Cliff said, he heard your name at the port and found you." "How long was I gone for? How long ago was this accident?" "It was at least 3 months ago." So I was drifting off to sea for 2 months. Since this last month I was with Rin and Elias." I held my head since it was so much to sink in and I was starting to remember things as well. "Hey Kai. You alright?" Said the captain worriedly. "Yeah I'm fine. When I remember things my head starts to hurt. When I Saw Cliff and he talked to me a bit, I remembered a little about him." "You should get some rest or talk to the other crew members to see if they can help you remember some things." "Thanks Captain."

So I did just that. I got up and went from crew member to crew member to see if they could help me remember. After the 10th crew member, my head hurt so bad I had to go lay down and had the doctor see me just to be sure nothing is wrong. "Hello Kai. Its good to see you again. I was the one who delivered you when your mom gave birth." "Well thankyou for helping her. Did you deliver the others as well?" "Yes I did." The doctor felt my head and checked me over to see if I was ok. Which I was. "Ok Kai try to get some sleep. I will check on you in an hour or so." I closed my eyes and rested.

Once Fury was free, he went to go check on Kai. Fury walked in Kai's room and saw him sleeping. He felt Kai's head and sighed a relief. "Your finally back little brother. Thank god." Fury left Kai's room and met up with his dad. "Hey dad. I just checked on Kai. He is doing ok. The Doctor checked on him too and said the same. He seems to be remembering a little bit at a time. According to him when he remembers, he gets little pieces of his memory back." "Yeah I figured as much. I'm glad he's doing ok." "Hey dad? Are you sure nothing suspicious that you know of happened the night he drifted off this time?" "I'm sure I don't know anything. You might ask your mom she might have. That's why she left to check it out." "Ok I will ask her. Thanks dad."

"Hey mom?" "Oh hey Fury you need something?" "Well I was wondering. The night Kai went missing did you see or hear anything suspicious? Dad told me you knew something. That's why you checked it out." "I'll be right back boys. Your doing a good job. Follow me Fury."

I was just waking up when I was hearing voices. I didn't know if they were a memory, or if they were present. I went outside to look and over toward the end of the boat I saw Kaia and Fury talking about something. I went over even though I know I probably shouldn't. "Hey Kaia and Fury. What are you two talking about?" "You ok Kai? You look like you have been drugged." said Kaia. "Oh no. It couldn't be. They found him on the ship already. Shit. Fury stay with Kai." "Yeah mom. Is everything ok?" "I don't know son. I hope so." "Come on Kai. Lets get you back to your Quarters. I'll stay with you." said Fury.
