Chapter 2:The challenge

I had arrived the army training field and went to a specific ring meant for challenges. My father had his Armour on holding two swords and two daggers were placed on the sides.I stood where I was for some minutes before moving forward, I could hear my inner saul persuading me to let go of the challenge but I would look like cowered which I have never accepted. I stood in front of the king but as for now he was an opponent. I was known to have a heart of stone, the truth is no one ever understood me so they mistook me for who am not. Princess Alina was stiff as if he was going to fight a nobody, soon after the general a guard hit the drum indicating the challenge had begun. The king had his swords on hand whereas Alina's swords were untouched on her sides, all she could do was dodge his strikes. It was clear that she didn't want to hurt her father. All the princesses were watching the challenge including the general and most of the army members. From the look in their eyes it could be noticed that they feared for the king and not the princess. It was said that princess Alina spent most of her time in the battle field and romours had it that she would slay all the enemies without any help and it gave the army members an easy time since they didn't lose lives most of the time. The most surprising thing was that her injuries she had during the wars would fade fast leaving no marks making people believe she wasn't human. The king seemed to have lost a lot of strength but Alina was like she had just been resting all that while. "Alina it's a challenge you should also strike." I heard a voice from behind me and it caught my attention making me forget I was in a challenge. It was the general, not even once has anyone dared to call me by name directly apart from my parents but he just did. I gave him a death stare and almost ran for his neck when a sword passed through my hand flesh.I could fell it piercing through me and I felt something in me awake. I draw out my sword and began to attack his highness without minding I didn't know I was so fast and the king could not keep up with my speed so I knew I was hurting him but I could not stop myself. The inner me could not go slow and could not understand why all I had in my mind was he cut my hand and he had to pay. I didn't realize how badly he was hurt before Hedy shouted from afar "Princess,it's your father the king, cool down please,". I didn't why I stopped immediately and just then I saw every one run to the king who was now lying on the ground. I felt some guilt in me but stayed calm like nothing ever happened. "Call the royal doctor immediately." I heard my sister princess Marshall shout. She was in charge of the welfare of everyone in the kingdom including the palace. I could bearly see him since my sisters were all over him so I didn't know how deep his wounds were." Hedy, all my maids should be in my room immediately." "I will surmon them immediately," he said and left. My sister Kara who was the eldest and in charge of the states in the kingdom stood up and said to me. "Alina what kind of person are you, you have made father in this state but you are still ordering your servants around instead of showing concern. Why is your heart so cold and you are always so bossy. But still dad seems to love you more than is." I raised my eye brows looking surprised, clearly I didn't care about everything she said but the part of the king loving me more than them hit me really bad. I never knew that, he never told me. After some time he was lifted to his room and the royal doctor arrived and covered his wounds. I was so surprised when he called me first after the doctor left. "Alina I love your fighting techniques and skills,I had a hard time seeing you move and I thought you were actually dissappearing and appearing." I just looked at him and smiled at least he wasn't mad at me. "Princess we will be having visitors tomorrow," That he said looking at each one of us indicating it was all directed to us all. We did not ask any further questions and left the king's quarters for our own.
