"Want to see them?"
He goaded Asher. Asher looked angry.
"I won't. How nice it is to look at you all angry but not able to do something about it?"
Rose felt that he was intentionally angering Asher. He is a successful villain as he was managing to make them angry. Really very angry.
"Mom!"
"Huh, you still call for your mom? So pathetic!"
Rose understood he was asking Cora to help. She couldn't see but Cora jumped out from her pendant and ran away, presumably to save the others.
"Let's get started."
The other walls fell and the room became bigger once again. This time there were mutant animals. Rose identified them. They were all infused with magic and that made them manic.
Magic is a balance. But adding magic to a person or animal can make them manic or mad. They can't carry the weight of the power coursing through their veins and the results are catastrophic most of the times. That's why no one uses magic like that.
