Lying on the floor, Strados laid in daze, unable to fathom what occurred to him. His mouth started to crack, which grew, and grew, until laughter started to boom out of it. He laughed so loud, the arena began to quiver at the sound of it. The laughter went on for quite a while, which made Jake nervous, fearing that the whole place would collapse on itself, leading them to falling down.
However, his worries were unfounded: "Don't worry lad, this building is quite sturdy, if I do say so myself. It's made with the strongest stone found in the galaxy, the Rynesium marble. Along with its near indestructibility, it also has the capability to self - regenerate, making it one of the most sought out after materials in the galaxy. Although it's capapbilities are very well sought after, their limited production makes them very rare to obtain."
Hearing this, Jake wonders how much did they even spend on it. The astronomical price in on itself would bankrupt any smaller institution. While Jake was wondering all this, Strados jumped back to his feet, dusting away any remaining traces of white sand off from his body. He walks upto to Jake, offering a hand to him.
Realising the intent behind it, he gladly accepts the hand, which pulls him up extremely quickly, nearly yanking of his right arm from its socket. Wincing slightly in pain, he rotates his arms, making sure that it's still attached correctly.
As he dusts himself as well, Strados attracts walking to the direction of the door, "Are you going to stay there all day long? We don't have much time, or rather you don't. It's getting pretty late, and I warrant that, judging by your looks, you must still be in school, or graduated at least. You parents will be worried sick if you don't come back home at time."
A brief interlude later, just as Strados started getting angsty, a soft voice replied "I don't have any parents." Taken aback, Strados realises that he came as rude "I'm sorry." Turning red, he walks quicker to the receptionist, who stands at the edge of the door.
"Helena, could you be a dear and quickly process the ID for this young gentleman." The receptionist, now known as Helena, taken aback, subconsciously replied "Dear sir, it will take approximately 1 - 2 working days for the ID to be made. Please be patient."
Eyes crossing again, this time even deeper, he beloved slightly in anger "Helena, what has happened to you! Pull yourself together, dammit! If you do not, I think we will have Rosaline take take over your job." Shaking her head from the stupor, she quickly returns "I'm sorry sir, I will quickly make the card."
"Sheesh, this woman will be the death of me. Sorry for this... fiasco. Come back tomorrow to get your card. Mr. Jeremiah, I belive that you are more than willing to take him home. Please return him back safe and sound, or else..." Trailing off, Jerry gulped, out of fear or something else, he could not tell.
Quickly taking a dazed Jake home, he dropped him off near the walkway, this time without any 'incidents' of sort. As he walked back home, still wondering about the events that had taken today, a silent pair of eyes watch him, behind plastic blinds.
As a new morning began, Jake, slapping his cheeks with both hands, encourage himslef that today will be better. Looking at his watch, he realised that he was getting late, so without taking any breakfast, he ran to school.
Just as he reached the gates, he realised that it seemed more eerie than usual. Then it suddenly clicked: the chattering nearby stopped.
As he looked around, he found the people nearby pointing at him, gossiping about something. Curious, he attempted to get closer to ask, yet as he did so, they all shied away from, as if he was some sort of plague.
Distressed, he wondered if he had done anything wrong. Just as he was about to break down in despair, a sudden slap at his back shook him back into reality.
