Chapter 52: Symbol Of Fear, Finale

(Daily Music: My Hero Academia-Odd Future)

(Got my vaccination today)

-7 years after the hanging of Hiyu Tokiyata. 3rd POV-

Jokara had become so infamous that he was one of, if not the most well known person in the whole world by now. His brutality, his methods, the type of people that he targeted, how he dealt with them, how he always made public examples of them, etcetera. These all made him the most popular topic of the world. The biggest factor was that he became the most wanted in Japan at the age of 8, turning 9 only a week after being branded a target.

For years, heroes and villains alike tried to take him down. But they always failed. Sometimes, he even took their quirk, giving him even more versatility and potential than before, a feat that got more and more impressive as he continued to appear. Whenever he appeared, he was always several times stronger than the last time.

In just a few months of being branded a top priority villain in Japan, he got so powerful that even if all the heroes and villains of Japan banded together and planned for months, he was still guaranteed to win.

As he kept on killing, however, people began looking into his victims that happened to also be heroes. There were several consistencies dug up by people who had managed to find or hack into records or past recordings or other forms of evidence that showed the heroes had not been as heroic as they advertised themselves to be.

Rape, theft, harassment, murder, extortion. Each dead hero had been committing fucked up actions. It was unknown how Jokara always knew this, but it was clear he knew it well.

Because of this, most people began rooting for and supporting him.

He also, as previously mentioned, always made their mangled and mutilated bodies a public sight. Each hero was always confirmed to have only died hours before they are discovered. On the rare occasion that they are found before they die, something different would happen every time, but it would never end in the hero living. Two instances are as follows below.

In the first instant, 2 months after Hiru's hanging, the hero was being rushed to hospital as fast as possible in an ambulance, being assisted in the back of the vehicle. However, Jokara himself, seemingly already knowing the hero was in the vehicle, appeared in the path of the ambulance, and charged at it like a raging bull. The driver couldn't even react fast enough to try and swerve out of the way or drive away before the charging boy slammed into the vehicle at Mach speeds, dashing straight through the entire thing with sheer brute force combined with insane speed. The driver, the hero, and the ones who were assisting him all died. This was another message from Jokara. Anyone assisting these corrupt heroes would not be spared either, even if they were civilians.

In the second instance, just 3 weeks after the death of the ambulance workers trying to save the corrupt hero, a group of civilians saw that a hanged hero was still alive, and they tried to to save her and get her down. They climbed up to where she was hung to the building, and reached to start getting her down. But when they made physical contact with her, their body suddenly got infected with bright red spots. Just seconds after noticing these spots, holes in the skin burst from these spots. Pus, blood and bone poured out of these holes. They all died agonizing deaths, but only succumbed to the abyss after 30 minutes of this hell. It was found the next day by investigators that Jokara had infested the hero's body with spores that would eject outside of her body if their host was physically touched. These spores were unlike any singular type of spores found in nature, and it was noted that he definitely made them through combining different types of spores from different flora. This was another case of him not showing mercy to any civilians who tried to help the corrupt heroes.

As time went by, villains and corrupt heroes were being killed multiple times in shorter and shorter spans of time. On an average day, 20 villains and 10 corrupt heroes would be killed. It was clear that Jokara was getting faster to be able to do this much on a typical day. That was another topic of discussion. His speed.

Occasionally, a violent gust of wind would happen somewhere completely out of nowhere. If there was a camera in the area, something even stranger would be observed.

Absolutely nothing would be picked up.

At first, people thought this was just weather. But around the 4th time, it began tipping people off, especially when it persisted even in non-windy weather.

People began theorizing that it was Jokara, as it was quite well known that he was quite fast even when he was 8.

Only he would know.

-Jokara POV-

(What Jokara looks like now. Ryujin in background too, just much bigger and longer, and white.)

It was late at night. In fact, it would be the next day in 5 hours.

"You keep getting lost in thought. What's on your mind?", Kimimaro asked from within my mind.

Shortly after I first talked with Kimimaro and Kaguya, they began being able to communicate with me in my head. It felt nice to have some company with me, I will admit.

I also requested that they not peer at my thoughts unless I allowed them to. They accepted my request.

"I think it's time. I've got all I need, and I'm powerful enough to handle it.", I respond.

"Are you absolutely certain? We have to make sure that we are absolutely okay with doing it now, and not later.", Kaguya questioned.

"Yes, I'm certain. I've gotten powerful enough to deal with whatever they can throw at me and more."

"Time for war."

(Not really going to be a war. Just letting you know now. So sorry for this finale not having some epic intense fight.)

-3rd POV-

The world was woken to a series of extremely serious emergency alerts warning about attacks in their areas. That's right, the world, not just Japan.

Africa, South America, North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, even Antarctica. All awoke to attacks and death. Confusion rang everywhere, everyone wondering who was attacking them. It couldn't be each other, since they were all attacked practically overnight. The confusion stopped when a voice reached them all. Not through recordings, just through speaking.

(Remember when he could scream so loud it affected the environment? Well... :) )

"Those who are scrambling around like confused sheep, hear me! My name is Jokara Kowai! I am the one who attacked you all! I'm not going to make some theatrical speech, I'm just going to say one thing! I declare war on all of you! You'll know exactly where to find me in a few seconds!", I provoked.

True to my word, I gave them a very easy way to find out where I was. I used the bioluminescence quirk to make a giant pillar of shining green light, large enough to be noticed quickly.

They would be coming now. I wasn't going to make it easy for them, so I got to setting traps.

-3rd POV-

Heroes from all across the world began making their way towards the giant beam of green light. It was very obvious that it was the person from earlier telling them where he was.

It was on a large island isolated in the ocean.

Millions of heroes dotted the scene. In the air, in the water, on ships, on planes, etcetera. All approaching the island where the beam was.

All of a sudden, electricity began rampaging in the water. All heroes in the water were fried to absolute crisps in mere seconds. Millions of people died, just like that.

(Before you complain about the high numbers, lemme show you some math that I made sure to look up real quick. So, for this scenario, let's assume that all 7 billion people in our world is the same as in MHA. I looked up 80% of 7 billion, because 80% of people in MHA have quirks, and it said 56 million. That's a lot of people that are going to die in large scale attacks like this.)

Just mere seconds after the death of millions of people in the water, the people in the air followed a similar fate. Sharp bones covered the air in thousands like arrows.

Everyone in the air followed a similar fate to those who used to be in the water. Even those of them that were safe from being pierced because of being in planes died anyway because their plane crashed, as their pilot had been pierced by a bone going through the front of the plane and to them.

Some unfortunate people in ships were pierced by bones that didn't hit anyone in the air but ended up getting to them on their way to the ground.

Just like that, they lost so many fighters that whatever number they had before had been reduced to, at the absolute most, 4 million.

The people remaining wanted to surrender already. Their numbers before were absolutely in the double digits in terms of millions, but all of a sudden, it went to single digits, and they hadn't even gotten to the island yet.

The ships tried their best to turn back and never return, admitting defeat. Even if they somehow won, which was clearly extremely unlikely

But clearly the person fighting didn't care for their surrender.

In seconds, ships started withering away, like they were decaying.

(All Killing Ash Bones.)

The death toll kept getting even higher and higher with the destruction of each ship. Until just one remained.

-3rd POV-

These ones will be the message to the rest of the world of what happened here. They will be let to live.

I jumped onto their ship, and showed myself to them.

"J-J-Jokara....", a male voice. How did he know my name?

"N-no", a female voice.

"W-why", another female voice.

I wondered why they sounded so familiar, until I saw them.

...My adoptive family. The Wild Wild Pussycats. And some other people as well, obviously.

"I'm sorry, but I've come too far to stop now. If it's of any reconciliation, you all get to live. You all will tell the world what happened here.", I said.

I would be lying if I said it didn't pain me for them to see what I had become and what I had done.

One of the worst parts of this is that it wouldn't be unlikely for Miruko to have been on one of the ships or planes that I blew up. At least she would have died not knowing it was me.

"I'm sorry for becoming this. Sorry for how much this must pain you all. But I'm trying to be a hero, the only way I know how." I apologized.

They said nothing. I don't know if it was because of sadness or anger. I would completely understand both.

"Send a message to the world. Tell them that I said it, and that it's directed to villains, corrupt heroes and civilians with dark secrets."

-3 hours later, 3rd POV-

As the one remaining ship approached Japan's harbour, the faces of the people waiting for their family and loved ones to return gained a mourning and crestfallen expression, breaking down.

Some of the very few heroes who stayed ran to question the few survivors.

"What happened?!", they all loudly asked.

"... He spared us. He told us that he would let us live to tell the world of what happened. He slaughtered everyone in seconds. Millions of powerful heroes died in mere seconds, and he didn't even try.", Tiger sadly answered.

A silence overtook the area.

Later, the surviving heroes requested for a broadcast for them to tell about what happened. Their requests were accepted. In the broadcast, they told everyone what had happened. How many heroes there were, and how many died almost instantly, how he let them live and why.

"And there was something he told us to say. He said that it's directed to, quote, "All villains, corrupt heroes, and civilians with dark secrets.", Pixie bob said.

All viewers, from across all the world, payed even more attention.

"I am here."

(And that's the end. I know it mostly likely is bad and rushed. I don't have any excuse for it being like this. I promise though, that at some point, I will remake this book, and I will make sure to always put 200% into it.

Onto good news though. The book with Earth Manipulation will be next. I'll start writing it after a short break. Maybe a week or two.)

(Update: The new book is out. At the time of writing this note, the first two chapters are out.)
