Tanya

In another part of the city in the early morning, a young girl with long dark auburn hair woke up from her slumber.

She was seventeen years old, she had a pair of sharp and cold looking brown eyes which lead others to believe that she was someone with a bad personality and nature.

The girl had clear white skin, she was tall and slender with a little muscle on her body which showed she participated in physical activities more regularly than the average person and she was dressed in a vest top and pyjama bottoms.

Her hair was a little messy from sleeping in late and she got up to check her appearance before brushing her hair and putting it into a ponytail.

She recalled the night before then let out a sigh and showing her annoyance.

She was Tanya Reed the potential minor villainess of the novel and her current setting was left quite vague by the original author besides stating a couple of minor details saying that during the initial part of the novel, the Reed family had been kept busy and had to use a lot of resources to be reunited with Tanya before they were able to climb their way up in the apocalypse.

It was the perfect setting for the main character to go prepare herself for what was coming while the family was distracted and busy trying to retrieve the precious daughter of the Ceo of the Reed food company.

By the time the Reed family had gotten their heir back and had regained a hold of their resources then they would be able to make use of everything to gain greater power and influence.

Those that held a large amount of food could use it to influence other people in greater positions and play a big part in keeping certain survival camps or bases running.

Without the food, many would be left starving so those who had a major supply were able to climb up quickly in the ranks or open a camp of their own.

When there were more requests and more mouths to feed without people contributing to the camp certain measure had to be taken which would leave many starving or having to work in order to eat so that the supplies were not going to be used up too quickly.

The day before the apocalypse had began, Tanya had participated in an archery competition with her club.

They did not win due to there being many on her team who lowered the overall score for the team but Tanya had played a large role in helping them come third place.

On the bus back, they were taken back to the city towards a hotel which had been prepared by her father where there had been some additional guests.

Everyone celebrated in the same room along with the guests which her father had invited there so that Tanya and them could grow closer.

Her father had several potential business partners and one way to close the deal was to appease them by means other than money.

Sometimes simpler approaches were needed and he believed that the young heirs would get along with his daughter and help to build a stronger bond through the families whether it was through friendship and possibly marriage.

Although he could not force her to marry because there was going to be resistance from her, he kept subtly inserting people by her side that were related to his business partners.

Tanya basically became the friend or babysitter of the heirs which often lead to misunderstandings or rude behaviour from them unless they had a decent personality.

The young heirs got drunk and one tried to approach her after gaining a little more courage but he ended up making a wrong move which earned him a slap across the face.

Not many would be able to approach or fully break past Tanya's wall of ice which she had up around her when her father had continued to set up the meetings but she was usually more friendly in the presence of her friends.

The group returned to their rooms and Tanya went to bed in a bad mood expecting that her father would be on the phone the next day to complain how she had messed up his business deal without listening to her side of the story.

Her father was far more interested in power and influence, although he did love his daughter and cared about her wellbeing, there were certain parts of him that were conflicted between his love for her and his love for the business which distorted his priorities at times.

Lucy was not the only one he had wronged many times because he had unknowingly put his daughter into some very risky situations without checking properly into who he was sending to spend time with his daughter just so his negotiations would go along better.

The banging outside intensified along with the added screams and moans which made Tanya go to check what was happening.

A human figure was leaning over a body and crunching noises were heard by Tanya.

Just as the face turned slightly, the slightly decayed skin was exposed along with the organs in between the mouth and hands as it chewed on them.

The dead eyes turned in Tanya's direction and it started to climb to its feet to get to her.

Another noise came from behind and a zombie let out a moan as it reached for her.

Tanya let out a shocked scream and turned around to push it away then retreated back into the room.

The moment that the door closed, the two zombies hit on the door repeatedly but it was no use since the door had been locked.

Tanya went over towards the television and turned it which showed the repeating broadcast.

Her face went pale but after thinking for a long time, she started to check over her supplies. "Enough food and water to probably last me a day or two which I had brought.. the hotel room drinks and snacks should last me a couple more days. I have my practice arrows and bow which could be used for protections. Now for my phone.."

Tanya went onto many different websites to search for useful information then stumbled onto a very popular thread which had been very detailed and praised so she began reading it seriously until her phone rang. "Yes father.. I know what has happened and it looks like I am trapped in the hotel. I do not know how the others are doing yet so I do not know if my friends are still living. How is the situation back at home? Oh that is not good. Do not take any risks and take things slowly. Yes, I will not take any risks too. Bye father."

Tanya put down the phone and then started to seriously study the guide once again while taking some notes about the important parts.

Later sounds were head as she was sharpening the blunt arrow heads and preparing other things to aid in her and others survival.

Brick did not know that his post had already attracted quite the following and the person he was supposed to protect was carefully studying it.
