[In Barnolia, humans, elves and other humanoid species have developped powers to survive the continuous invasion of beasts and evil creatures such as orcs, goblins and many others.

Three paths have survived the passage of time:

- The Magus Path: Thriving for knowledge, moving for benefits and wielding magical powers, Magi are the strongest beings, yet their legacy has been declining over the centuries, not because of the lack of knowledge but rather because unlike other species, humans with magical talent are very rare

Rank 1 Acolytes are the weakest beings in the path of Magi. Possessing low spirit, rank 1 acolytes are the backbone of any magus organizations, yet most of them can only cast one spell or two of meagre effects.

Rank 2 Acolytes are much stronger, with usually intermediate understandings of mana theories and a larger panel of spells, thus making them more versatile and less likely to die against mortals.

Rank 3 Acolytes are the strongest beings below magi, usually having advanced level knowledge in one or even two fields. In addition to having destructive power and large versatility in terms of spells, rank 3 Acolytes usually have at least one magical artefact, making them increasingly more dangerous.

Rank 1 Magus are not humans or mortals anymore: they are an evolved species with higher lifespan (usually 300 years at rank 1), higher spirit, and a much higher potential. All great heroes in the History of Barnolia in the past four centuries were Magi, like the founder of the Porfield Kingdom.

Observation: Be it the elemental Magus path (the most common), Body Refinement Path, Nature Path (like druids), Alchemists, Monster Tamers, these paths all fall under the great legacy of Magi.

- The Knight Path: Strengthening their bodies, training their mastery over weapons and cultivating 'internal energy', a strange power that is secreted by one's own body, Knights are the most common powerhouses in the world.

Ranks: Preparatory Knight (Knights who have yet to awaken their internal energy, and can thus only boast a supernatural physique)

Knights (Strong individuals who broke through genetic shackles by using internal energy. Usually using breathing techniques or meditation, they continuously strengthen their body, making them incredibly strong)

Half Grand Knights (Individuals who have cultivated their internal energy to the point that it is too potent and too dense to be considered as knight-level, yet still lacking compared to Grand Knights)

Grand Knights (Individuals who have a very precise control of their internal energy. Only grand Knights can use internal energy to summon their body's potentials to its limits temporarily with little repercussions)

Supreme Knights (?)

- Holy Path: Insufficient Data

Priests and Paladins, analogues of magi and paladins, exist and have been spreading over the past few centuries. However, these powerhouses rely on otherworldly existences to grow stronger.
