Lillian was busy everywhere else besides looking at Hakl to make sure he isn't doing anything at the moment. The screams from the people tempted her to turn around but she couldn't do it, not just yet. She has to find another way to get out of this or to get Sappire out of that spot.
"What are you waiting for, Hakl?" Lillian asked, noticing the look on his face as she struggled to look around her. "You are not stalling for our sake, are you?"
"I would be an idiot to do that, girl." He said, chuckling.
"I am pretty sure that I am older than you, Hakl." Lillian rolled her eyes. "Respect your elders, boy."
"Why are you doing this, Hakl?" Sappire finally spoke up as he beamed. "You are killing my people."
"Many sacrifices have to be made in order to achieve the greater good," he said, smiling and walking to Sappire. "Don't you think so, your majesty?"
"At the expense of all these people? What sacrifice would be worth it?"
