The Shadow Of A Murderer

Ryan ended his phone conversation with Angela soon after.

"We need to go," he announced.

We? What?

Aiden rose to his feet and approached Ryan.

"What's wrong?"

"Mark Parsons is on the run. He will want to take revenge on a few people. Like me," Ryan added when he saw the confusion on Aiden's face.

Lips parting from surprise, Aiden did not need to ask why Ryan held that belief. News had announced the state that Mark Parsons was currently at. That man was unable to walk due to a recent unfortunate incident.

It was pretty clear that Ryan masterminded said unfortunate incident.

It made sense if he wanted to exact revenge on Ryan, but not Aiden.

"I don't know Mark Parsons. He also doesn't know me. Why would he target me?"

Ryan was too lazy to explain. He gave Aiden a peck on the lips instead.

"Humor me. I don't want to take any risk."

The vampire pinched at Aiden's waist and gestured toward the satchel that sat on the kitchen counter.
