The Bloodstained Affair

A struggle to restore peace upon the world, dotted with forbidden romance between a vampire and a human being. This story takes place in futuristic England where human beings, vampires, and werewolves co-existed on earth. Aiden Thompson was just a regular human being who was trying to live his life as quietly as possible without any entanglements with the two superior races. He had long forgotten a night twelve years ago, when he met a vampire and saved his life. Ryan Caldwell, the vampire, vowed to pick him up when he reached the age of eighteen. Meanwhile, his grandmother's sickness led Aiden to the muddy, illegal world of blood transactions, where desperate human beings resorted to selling their precious, young blood for a huge sum of money. And Ryan Caldwell. The vampire had not forgotten his promise, but how come the person he accepted into his family was none other than Alain, Aiden's half-brother instead? To make matters even worse, a new race emerged and threatened the facade of peace among the three races that populated the world. It was by then too late for Aiden to withdraw from the center of the conflicts... -------------------------- "Mr. Caldwell, please don't make me repeat myself," Aiden interjected. "It was my own fault. I... I just want to forget everything. Please stop reminding me of... of what happened last night." Aiden grabbed into his quilt. He pressed his lips together and furrowed his brows in indignation. He did not want to think about it. He did not want to remember it. He wanted time to make him forget, and heal the terrible heartache that plagued him. Ryan heaved a sigh. "Aiden, it was not your fault. We... I..." And yet, the young man did not allow him to explain. "There is no 'we'," Aiden corrected the vampire opposite him. The young man lifted his head and glared at Ryan. "I don't like men. Do you...?" Nick And Serena

Harrow Lane, the town where Aiden lived, was relatively small in size. It was possible to travel from one border to the other using a bicycle within three hours. On the next Sunday morning, Aiden googled the address that the vampire gave him and then set out in the morning.

At 9.30 sharp, Aiden arrived at the aforementioned address. It was an abandoned warehouse of a company that recently moved to a bigger town. Vandals had left graffiti all over the warehouse exterior using spray paint.

The other buildings were not in better shape. Most of them had been vacated, some due to bankruptcy, some due to relocation.

A creaking sound was heard coming from a nearby wire mesh gate as it opened. A slender figure that was shrouded in a dark purple velvety coat from top to bottom stood in the inner courtyard.

Delicate fingers pushed the hood back and revealed long, voluminous red hair that fell down the woman's neck gracefully.

A polite smile spread on the oval, attractive face that framed two bright greenish-blue eyes. The woman's face was completely bloodless save for the cherry-red, plump lips.

The vampire woman motioned for Aiden to come in with a nod.

It was known that vampires were able to exert full control over rabid vampires. Aiden had previously heard about some rumors that the vampires were also able to make human beings similarly do their bidding.

There was no clarification to the rumor, but at the moment when Aiden's feet moved automatically to step into the courtyard without hesitation, the young man felt a chill running down his back. It was as if he fell under some sort of a spell that caused him to be unable to refuse the vampire woman, let alone walk away from her.

The gate closed with another creaking sound. A clanking sound that followed told Aiden that a lock had been fastened onto the gate.

Aiden did not stop walking, not even to wait until the vampire woman caught up. He walked toward a door at the backside of the warehouse, grabbed the handle, and opened the door as if he had done it more than a thousand times already.

Aiden went upstairs to the second floor and entered an empty hall with ample lighting.

At the end of the hall sat another gorgeous woman with silver-blond hair and equally attractive features. She rose to her feet when Aiden stopped before her. Her silver dress poured behind her like a sparkling stream of molten metal as she started to walk around Aiden in circles.

A soft "hmm" escaped her lips as she observed Aiden from top to bottom. When she opened her mouth casually, two sharp fangs came into the display.

The first vampire woman closed the door behind her and stood straight in silence.

"What an exquisite face you have," the second vampire woman praised. She stretched out her fingers and caressed Aiden's fair cheek.

"Those beautiful hazel eyes, and the beautiful nose, and lips... Ohh... if I did not know better, I would have thought that you were a vampire yourself."

She boldly took off Aiden's jacket and her hands wandered down to his neck, and then to his chest. Aiden flinched and found his voice at last.

"Umm... Madam, I... Please don't."

The second vampire woman flashed him a grin.

"Sorry for going overboard. After many years had passed, I have become quite desensitized with my shamelessness."

The first vampire woman chuckled. She picked up Aiden's jacket from the floor, patted the dust off, and handed it back to Aiden.

"Aiden Thompson, eighteen years old. You have been to a Saint Johanna's hospital a few times now. Are you in urgent need of money?"

Aiden's mouth opened in shock. He did not expect to have his background researched before even offering to sell his blood.

The redhead vampire woman smiled and explained, "It is wise to get to know the client in this kind of business, especially if he is underage. You understand, don't you?"

"I... yes, of course. I understand."

"I am Nikola," the redhead vampire introduced herself. "Please call me Nick."

"I am Serena," the other vampire said, plopping on her seat again in a seductive manner. "Please call me Serena. Soo, Aiden... eighteen is a very sweet age for a young man like you. Your blood must be very... delicious."

Serena licked her lips in anticipation.

It all happened in a blink of an eye.

Aiden was petrified, unable to dodge the attack at all.
