The Birth of a Demon Lord

Labels affect people's lives in any world. As it turns out, being a demon brings a bunch of dangers. After his reincarnation the idea of being a demon didn't really bother Azemo, instead the reality of magic and fantasy occupied his thoughts. Gaining more power or a new technique was more important than learning about the war between demons, humans and beasts. Also he was reborn with modern day villains so being a demon was the least of his worries. At first it was like he was back at school, a school filled with violence and death but he was still learning stuff. However Azemo would be forced to learn about the gravity of being a demon when he ventured from the demon stronghold. Azemo did not have any grand goals or ideas but the world has a way of forcing troubles and tribulations upon beings.

Reginald Food

Reginald was extremely excited to see the leash like contraption in Azemo's hands and he began to shake the barn excitedly. Azemo had hoped that Reginald would calm down as he got closer but Reginald continued to be extremely energetic, bouncing around the small enclosed space. It was difficult for Reginald to move too much because he was stuck in a harness that was attached to the walls of the barn, but he was still able to make Azemo worry about the structural integrity of the building.

The leash itself was not a very easy thing to hold as it was a long piece of steel with a clasp at the end. Azemo was supposed to attach the clasp to the harness on Reginald's back and unhook the restraints but he had no idea how he was going to do that.

"Do you think he will make it out of there alive." Jin chuckled as he casually turned to talk to Slicker and Glen.

Slicker just gave Jin a dirty look as Reginald let out an excited roar inside the barn.

Azemo had given up trying to make Reginald calm down and was instead focusing on staying away from the animal's head. Reginald would occasionally snap his jaws shut and Azemo could feel the danger each time this happened.

'I might as well try and use a skill or something because it doesn't look like Reginald is calming down anytime soon.'

Azemo focused heavily as the mana welled up inside of him, before unleashing in a torrent feeding into (magycka) Shadows Call. The heavy metal bar suddenly disappeared from Azemo's grasp and reappeared right above the clasp on the harness. Fortunately it seemed that the clasp was magnetic as the leash clicked into place.

Azemo breathed a heavy sigh. Partly because he was relieved but partly because that was the single greatest expenditure of mana he had ever done. 'I probably can only do that three times a day.' This meant that Azemo would be greatly weakened for the rest of the day and would have to rely on his guards and physical strength.

As for the parts of the harness that were connected to the walls they immediately came undone after the leash was attached. Reminding Azemo that this world seemed to have better technology than Kaede's world. As Azemo was thinking about how the world was birthed from Behirite's imagination he also remembered that he had to control Reginald.

"Oh..." Reginald was rushing towards him mouth agape. Luckily Azemo quickly maneuvered to the side and Reginald burst out the front door.

Jin looked up in surprise, before frowning, that was the fastest anyone had ever prepared Reginald and he had been hoping for another day off.

Azemo was barely able to stop Reginald from charging off, after they exited the barn. Reginald was tugging like an animal possessed.

"Let's head out." Slicker was ready to do his job and he did not want to waste his entire day. He took the lead and led the group away from the town. Or he would have led the group if Reginald did not charge past him. Still, Reginald knew where his walks usually took place and the group was able to make it out of town without too much issue.

Walking Reginald was a full body workout. Azemo had to continuously fight against the massive creature so that he would not run off. Azemo also needed to keep Reginald at a distance so that Reginald did not turn around and chomp him when he was hungry.

At the moment Reginald had little interest in Azemo and was simply enjoying being out and about. It had been at least a week since the big creature had been on a proper walk.

Even though Reginald was relatively mellow and Azemo had a demon's strength, Reginald could drag Azemo around if he really put his mind to it. Otherwise, when Reginald did not have a goal in mind Azemo had a semblance of control.

Glen, Slicker and Jin were impressed again. No one had ever really controlled Reginald, which was the reason they went outside of the city where they would wait for Reginald to tire before they returned.

Azemo was starting to get the hang of walking Reginald when the enormous creature randomly stopped. Azemo quickly jumped back so he was not close to Reginald and realized that the creature was using the bathroom.

The sheer size of the droppings made Azemo stop complaining about his job as he realized the one with the worst role, was in fact Jin.

Jin groaned before taking out a massive shovel ten times his size. As if it weighed nothing to him Jin scooped up the waste into the shovel. Azemo could not fathom how Jin would get rid of it but Slicker tossed something onto the ground that turned into a massive holographic cube. The cube looked to be made the same way as the weapons Azemo had seen the hunters use.

Jin tossed the shovel towards the cube and the second the shovel hit the cube it evaporated leaving not a single trace. The cube seemed to be able to completely eradicate anything and Slicker was extremely careful as he deactivated it.

This time, it was Azemo's turn to be impressed as Jin and Slicker had handled Reginald's waste in under half a minute. Azemo wanted to get his mind to something else as he wondered if Reginald would need to go again.

"How long are we supposed to be out here?"

Slicker opened his mouth but Jin quickly interrupted him.

"Usually we stay out and about for three hours." The normal time was actually five hours, the job only called for three hours but it took the extra two to make it safe to take Reginald home.

"No wonder it is a full time job, that is an awfully long time."

Slicker and Glen saw that Azemo had accepted the time period and decided not to intervene. If there was a chance they could end on time, they would take it. Besides it seemed like Azemo could handle Reginald.

After three strenuous hours Azemo finally saw the end in sight. Reginald had worn Azemo out with all his constant tugging and Azemo longed for a nice soft bed.

Over the three hours every little thing distracted Reginald and whenever he saw something interesting he would yank Azemo's arm out his socket.

Azemo had even been forced to use (skill) Flames of Death to heal himself a couple of times, leaving his mana extremely drained.

"Okay I think that has been three hours, we should head back." Azemo spoke up because no one else was talking.

Slicker and Glen had not needed to do their job because nothing was stupid enough to attack the frightening Reginald so both of them were relatively fresh.

"Alright let's do it." Jin had needed to do his job a couple more times and he was anxious to get home and clean himself.

Unsurprisingly Reginald was unhappy with having his walk cut short and he lunged at the tired Azemo who was barely able to dodge and keep the massive creature at arm's length.

"Calm down we need to go home."

After Reginald saw that Azemo had some control over him, he let Azemo lead him back home.

On the way back Azemo learned why most creatures stayed away from them when Reginald swallowed a huge lizard in one bite.

After that incident it was relatively smooth sailing back to the barn where Azemo used the remnants of his mana to take off the leash and harness Reginald.

As soon as Reginald was taken care of, Azemo rushed to the Barracks, let Ima and Bella loose, and collapsed in his bed for a good night's rest. It was only midday at this point.
