The dream started out normally enough. I was sitting alone in my room when I heard loud voices outside, followed by heavy footsteps stomping down the hallway towards my bedroom door. Then my mom barged inside and yelled loudly, "Emma, come out here right now!"

"What's wrong mom?" I asked hesitantly as I sat up in bed and rubbed my eyes with my palms. Then I stood up and walked towards her while she paced back and forth in our small living room... She looked stressed to say the least, but that was normal for her whenever she came home late. So her behavior was nothing unusual, but her words made me worry nonetheless. "Is everything alright?"

"It's fine," she snapped irritably before taking a deep breath and calming herself down, "I just need to talk to you about something important."

I frowned slightly as she looked at me intensely before speaking again, "I'm going to tell you two very important facts that aren't related to anything else..."
