Once again, Blake woke up surrounded by darkness. He wasn't exactly sure when he fell asleep but it had to be after lunch judging from how late it had gotten outside. He sat up slightly and immediately regretted it when pain shot through his chest. He groaned loudly then slowly laid himself back down on his bed. His whole body ached horribly so he stayed put as quietly as possible hoping not to disturb anyone. Blake glanced around him but the only things visible were his bed sheets, a lamp sitting on top of a nearby dresser, and the large window in front of him. There was absolutely no indication that there had ever been people living here except for the numerous boxes that remained stacked along the walls and furniture scattered everywhere he looked.
Although Blake had expected to wake up once the sun started shining outside, he still had difficulty accepting reality because it felt as though hours passed while he was sleeping instead.
