Rachel's worst fears were realized when she woke up on Saturday morning to learn that she was officially listed as Jacob's fiancée on social media sites. A photo of their engagement announcement was posted online by a former coworker of his from their previous jobs since the man was now dating one of Jacob's friends from college whom he'd met years earlier at a fraternity party at the local university. Rachel had heard rumors about Jacob's sexual encounters and infidelities before, but she never imagined that he'd be willing to marry anyone except for a woman he loved deeply instead of continuing his secret affair with someone else. But it didn't matter since he wasn't marrying her and he didn't love her anymore.
