Chapter 13 First Meeting
Betty stood up and walked to the door but was stopped by Angie's voice. "Well Betty never think you are a part of the Rockson's. We've already taken care of you people. You should be grateful!! Now don't ever stand infront of me in future because, as the future Mrs. of the Smiths, I have the power to make and unmake you"
"You have the power to help but you didn't. Not me but an innocent child. And you're going to get married into the Smith family now? feel sorry for Mr Smith then" Betty said. When she was about to open the door someone opened and they bumped into each other. It was like a slow motion in a movie. Jack was looking into Betty's eyes. Betty felt as if this beautiful man was looking into her soul. For the first time a man made her so speachless. Because Jack was very tall , Betty was raising her head to look at him. 'its her , the hospital girl' Jack said in his mind.
"Hello Mr . Smith, " Angie spoke out distracting Jack and Betty. That was when realization hit Betty that this was Mr. Smith, Angie's fiancee.
"Mr. Smith, I'm sorry I'll be out" she hurriedly said and went out. But Jack had a mind on his own.
"Good afternoon Miss Rockson. I hope I didn't make you wait for too long" Jack said with an expressionless face and stretched out his hand for a handshake but to his surprise, Angie run into his arms and gave him a hug , "Mr. Smith we're going to be a couple soon, I hope you don't mind me giving you a hug" Angie acted like the seductress queen she always was "em I do mind , you're going to stain my shirt with your make up" Jack said, trying his possible best not to sound rude , he didn't want his grandmother to be sad if he does anything wrong.
"Oh sorry, Jack, em I hope I can call you that right?" there's no need to be formal with each other."
Jack looked at her and nodded. Angie asked for permission to use the washroom and went out. Meanwhile Jack read the information he had about the adopted children of the Rockson's, afterwards he made a quick call to his assistant and his bestfriend. Angie came back from the washroom. She just did some small touches on her makeup.
" What do you want sir , miss" the waitress asked and they placed their order. During the date , Angie was only immersed in talking about herself, what she likes and dislikes and only asked Jack about things relating to wealth. Finally, after what seemed like months for Jack, the date was over. He couldn't stop thinking about the hospital girl and how pretty she was . He had to pinch himself several times and warn himself internally never to fall into a woman's trap.
"Jack, I ..my driver left and I didn't call him before the date ended can you please send me home" Jack wanted to object to it but knew that his grandmother might be spying on him so he nodded and took her home but didn't go inside to greet the Rockson's. He wasn't interested in their daughter.
