Two year’s deadline

"Edwards Quin? The same guy who runs the company you work for? How long has this been going on? Are you being forced? Or worse, are you pregnant with his child?"

Annabelle couldn't help but chuckle at her brother's rapid-fire barrage of questions. She knew he was just concerned for her well-being, but she also knew she needed to set the record straight.

"No, Alex," she said, trying to calm him down. "It's not like that. Edwards isn't a bad person. We didn't date, and I'm not being forced into anything. He... he just asked me to marry him."

Alex's anger seemed to evaporate, replaced by confusion. "Marry him? How would you even consider marrying someone you barely know? Annabelle, this is insane! You can't just throw your life away like this!"

I have a feeling he asked you to marry him with ulterior motives.

"I love him brother, I really do

Please keep this away from our parents

It's just a court wedding

I promise you just give me two years

If I'm unable to make him fall for me completely I'll divorce him and come home" she said pleading with tears in her eyes.

"Why are you chasing after someone who doesn't value your feelings Annabelle? You deserve much better" Alex said with a worried look.

I didn't inform our parents cause they'd disapprove and I entered the company with a fake identity.

Alex's curiosity peaked on hearing those words.

"Is that why you don't want to inform your parents?

You didn't want to blow your cover?"

"I lied that I'm an orphan" she said looking at Alex with pitiful eyes.

"How could you? Is that what you wish for our parents?"

"Hell no" Annabelle cuts in.

"I'd like to watch and see how you'd pull off in the wedding considering your bunch of lies

You'll keep lying to cover up more lies

I hope you don't get tired " he said, letting out a deep sigh.

Annabelle held the edge of her brother's shirt tugging it.

She puts up a pitiful look. "Help me this once bro please…"

Alex looks at her and sighs again, you never seem to grow cupcakes.

Annabelle On hearing Alex call her by her nickname she could tell his anger has already dissipated.

Help me get someone who's stand in as my relative just two elderly persons

Who will present to be my uncle and aunt.

That's fine,I'd send them to you when it's time

Remember our deal. Just two years out there once you're done playing around I'm personally bringing you home. Alex warned her.

Annabelle had inquired how long her brother intended staying but to her dismay he was returning the next day. She had missed him. The two siblings decided to catch up, as they had missed each other's company.

Mr. Brown and Serena Quinn were seated in their cozy living room, engrossed in a discussion about their son, Edward. Serena stood up and began massaging her husband's shoulders, hoping to ease the tension that had built up inside him.

"Honey," she whispered into his ear, her voice gentle and soothing. "Our son is bringing his fiancée home this weekend."

Mr. Quinn raised an eyebrow upon hearing the word "fiancée." He removed his glasses and carefully cleaned the lenses, placing them back safely in their case. Since when did Edward get into a relationship, let alone ask someone to marry him? Curiosity was written all over his face as he turned towards his wife.

"How did he even get into a relationship?" he asked, his voice laced with surprise. "I haven't heard any reports of his extravagant behavior lately."

Serena, knowing how to catch her husband's attention, continued massaging his neck. "Do you still feel the pain?" she asked, her voice filled with concern.

"There, that's the spot," he replied, letting out a slight moan of relief. Serena smiled, glad to have made her husband feel better. He gestured for her to sit next to him on the sofa, eager to discuss their son's unexpected news.

"Don't you think Edward has been acting a bit off lately?" Mr. Quinn finally mentioned, his eyes narrowing in thought. "I never expected him to settle down so soon. I don't trust that boy."

Serena reassured him, her hand still gently massaging his neck. "Our son has matured, honey. We forced him to grow up, remember? He's not the reckless young man he used to be."

"But still," Mr. Quinn protested, his voice filled with skepticism. "I just threatened him the other day, and now he's already made up his mind to settle down?"

"He told me they've been dating for a while, but they decided to keep it private," Serena explained, her tone soothing and patient. "I just hope this one sticks. Most of the ladies he dated couldn't tolerate his behavior for long."

"You're to blame, woman!" Mr. Quinn suddenly exclaimed, shifting the blame to his wife. "You over-pampered him as a child, and now he thinks he can get away with anything."

Serena chuckled softly, shaking her head. "Look who's talking," she replied, her voice filled with amusement. "Let's not push the blame here. I think he just needs a little guidance. If he can stick to one woman and stop hanging out with those friends of his, he'll change for the better."

"That's exactly why I want him to start a family," Mr. Quinn confessed, his voice becoming softer. "I feel like becoming a father will force him to mature and take responsibility for his actions."

"You're right, honey," Serena agreed. "Starting a family might be the turning point he needs. Let's support him and hope for the best."

With that, they both sat in comfortable silence, contemplating the news that Edward's fiancée was coming to their home. They hoped that this new chapter in their son's life would lead him on a path of growth and stability. Only time would tell if Edward had truly changed or if their concerns would prove to be valid.
