Chapter 34: Where's Helina?

Chase’s conscience bothered him all the way to work and all during his day. Each time he passed Helina’s empty desk, it hit him in the gut. She’d triggered a reaction in him that she had no idea she could trigger. It wasn’t her fault and he’d been harsh with her.

He would come clean as to why he’d reacted as he did. For once, he was actually useless at his job. He loved what he did, but without a certain raven-haired beauty at his side, testing and challenging him, his day wasn’t the same.

He had no meetings with anyone outside his company, so he chose to leave the office at lunchtime.

He needed to apologize to Helina for his overreaction. She’d been rightfully upset and had been grasping at straws. It wasn’t her fault and he would make it up to her.

She’d quickly become an integral part of his life. He couldn’t imagine his working life without her. The times they’d spent outside of the office, he’d enjoyed. She was easy to be with.
