All Hands On Deck
Candy and I re-enter the room where the team is gathered, the tension palpable. Everyone looks up expectantly as we take our places. I clear my throat, feeling the weight of what we were about to share.
"We just finished talking with Mrs. Susan,"
I begin my voice steady but firm.
"We told her everything, about Margaret being caught spying and the potential danger she brought with her."
Zack raised an eyebrow, skepticism evident in his expression.
"And how did she take it? Can we trust her?"
Candy steps in, her tone more reassuring.
"Mrs. Susan was shocked, genuinely so. She had no idea about Margaret's true intentions. She's as much a victim in this as we are. She promised to cooperate fully and even offered to help us with any information she might have about Jack."
Zayn leans forward, his eyes narrowing in thought.
"Did she seem sincere? We can't afford any more betrayal."
I nod.
