They could hear Scarlett screaming behind them as they moved further away but they didn't turn to look at her. She could go mad for all they care. It was what they wanted after all.
They walked to another cell where Jacob was seated staring outside the bars, his gaze unfocused and his expression blank. Melody stood and stared at him and all he did was move his head in her direction.
"You seem to have accepted your fate quite easily, Uncle," Melody said, she stared at him with the same expressionless eyes as he did with her.
"What can I say, no one would imagine that you have a place like this in a modern mansion. I am as good dead in the eyes of everyone, but I have a question, my dear niece, why haven't you killed me yet? Or you do not want to kill me?" Jacob asked.
If she wanted to kill him, she could have done that. Were all Novas so weak that they could not kill another Nova even when they so desperately wanted to? Jacob wondered.
