Collins held her in a warm embrace after she finished narrating her story. She felt weak and vulnerable. Abigail hated her position right now but she did find warmth in his arms and a reassurance that she desperately needed.
"I am sorry you had to go through that," Collins said in a whisper. He Stroke her back gently, feeling like she needed it even tho8gh she did the look like it. At least now he understood what she had experienced and her reason for not wanting to fall in love.
"You have nothing to be sorry about," Abigail muttered, her head buried in his chest. "Now that you know…what now?"
"...I said I will wait for Abigail, I will. I know that one day, you will come to love me too. Just don't push me away," Collins said after a little pause to think how best to phrase his words. "My feeling have not changed, Abigail, and they won't, I promise you that."
