Damian felt the ache in his heart but he could not blame her for what she was saying. He could understand that she was hurt and the ache he felt right was nothing compared to what she was feeling. Drawing a deep breath, he calmed himself before closing the gap between them, his left snaking around her waist while his right hand cupped her cheek, wiping away the tear that had stained it.
"I am sorry for not telling you about this. I wanted to but I could not bring myself to do it." He leaned, pressing his forehead on hers. "Mel, It is you that I want. It has always been you and none other. Please believe me and don't cry," he pleaded. He was hurting but he knew she was hurting more. The tears that streamed down her eyes hurt him more than what he was being accused of.
He wondered how she got to know about the kiss and his engagement with Emma but that was not important right now. He would think about that later after making sure Melody was alright.
