The Billionaire's Sick Wife

A poor girl born with congenital heart disease has not had much hope for the future, but her life takes a sharp turn when a wealthy, handsome man proposes marriage to her following her heart transplant. It was the most surprising thing to happen to her in her 22 years of life. Abigail had never thought that Christopher Sherman, a young, multibillionaire businessman, would approach her and express his desire to marry her. She was ecstatic and accepted his proposal. But little did she know that the 32-year-old handsome guy had a secret reason for wanting to marry her. Abigail stepped into his world with a lot of hope in her heart. But marrying him was not the happy ending. It was just the beginning. Will she be able to keep her heart from breaking? What will happen if she discovers his true motive? ============= "Life was easy before I married you," said Abigail with pain in her eyes. “I was dying, but I was happy.” “What do you mean?” Christopher clasped her arm. “Stop talking nonsense and eat the medicine,” he hissed, placing a tablet in her palm. Under his fiery gaze, Abigail cowered. "Do you find it difficult to meet my demand for a baby? It has been two years, Christopher." He didn’t answer her question. All he did was stare at her, acting mute. “Why do I feel like you don’t care about my feelings?” Abigail asked. “Don’t you love me?” His silence was the clear answer. ============= A special thanks to Aurora, my editor, for her helpful suggestions on how to improve the synopsis. The remorse and regret

An hour later, Anastasia came out, discussing something with Henry.

Henry's demeanor was less tense than it had been. He grinned at Sebastian, who was approaching them.

"Madam is okay now, Mr. Hubbard. She will be moved to the ward soon."

He wanted to take credit now that Maria was no longer in danger. He had ignored the fact that he had delegated Maria's care to Anastasia. If anything had gone wrong with the big boss' wife, he would have blamed Anastasia, and Sebastian would have taken action against her.

Sebastian's focus was on Anastasia. "Doctor… Is she okay?" he asked as if he had not heard what Dr. Henry had just said. All that was obvious in his eyes was worry.

Henry's smile disappeared. He was embarrassed and, at the same time, envious of Anastasia. He gave her a resentful look.

"She is out of danger now," replied Anastasia. "There is something I need to tell you. Please come with me."
