The most surprising thing

Christopher's sadness quickly turned into an uncontrollable rage. He needed answers. He had requested his father several times not to try to separate Abigail from him. Now he realized that a request alone was not enough.

If they wanted their son, they had to accept Abigail. Otherwise, he wouldn't hesitate to abandon everything and leave.

Christopher sprang to his feet and stormed out.

"Sir…" A maid approached him when he ran down the stairs.

He paused and frowned at her, clearly annoyed.

His annoyed look terrified the maid. She stepped aside, leaving his path.

"Gloria Madam visited in the afternoon," she mustered her courage to say it. "When she left, I saw madam crying and going into the study. After some time, she came out and left. I called out to her from behind, but she didn't respond."
