The Billionaire's Sick Wife

A poor girl born with congenital heart disease has not had much hope for the future, but her life takes a sharp turn when a wealthy, handsome man proposes marriage to her following her heart transplant. It was the most surprising thing to happen to her in her 22 years of life. Abigail had never thought that Christopher Sherman, a young, multibillionaire businessman, would approach her and express his desire to marry her. She was ecstatic and accepted his proposal. But little did she know that the 32-year-old handsome guy had a secret reason for wanting to marry her. Abigail stepped into his world with a lot of hope in her heart. But marrying him was not the happy ending. It was just the beginning. Will she be able to keep her heart from breaking? What will happen if she discovers his true motive? ============= "Life was easy before I married you," said Abigail with pain in her eyes. “I was dying, but I was happy.” “What do you mean?” Christopher clasped her arm. “Stop talking nonsense and eat the medicine,” he hissed, placing a tablet in her palm. Under his fiery gaze, Abigail cowered. "Do you find it difficult to meet my demand for a baby? It has been two years, Christopher." He didn’t answer her question. All he did was stare at her, acting mute. “Why do I feel like you don’t care about my feelings?” Abigail asked. “Don’t you love me?” His silence was the clear answer. ============= A special thanks to Aurora, my editor, for her helpful suggestions on how to improve the synopsis. Meaningless life

Abigail twirled slowly, looking at the walls around her in astonishment. She had imagined a lot about what could have been in this room, but she had never expected him to tape all of her ECG reports to the wall.

It was the biggest proof that he only cared about the heart inside her chest. Christopher had actually never cared for her.

This thought tore her apart from within.

She burst into tears, the photograph and the documents falling to the floor. Her attention went to a black diary on the table in the middle of the room. She walked over and opened the diary.

Alison's photo on the front page was the first thing she noticed.

Her smile…

It was quite appealing. With such a beautiful smile, she could entice anyone. Alison was naturally lovely and innocent.

Abigail flipped the page with her trembling hand.

'Alison, sugar… Please come back… Please…'

The rest of the page was filled with the word "please."
