A poor girl born with congenital heart disease has not had much hope for the future, but her life takes a sharp turn when a wealthy, handsome man proposes marriage to her following her heart transplant. It was the most surprising thing to happen to her in her 22 years of life. Abigail had never thought that Christopher Sherman, a young, multibillionaire businessman, would approach her and express his desire to marry her. She was ecstatic and accepted his proposal. But little did she know that the 32-year-old handsome guy had a secret reason for wanting to marry her. Abigail stepped into his world with a lot of hope in her heart. But marrying him was not the happy ending. It was just the beginning. Will she be able to keep her heart from breaking? What will happen if she discovers his true motive? ============= "Life was easy before I married you," said Abigail with pain in her eyes. “I was dying, but I was happy.” “What do you mean?” Christopher clasped her arm. “Stop talking nonsense and eat the medicine,” he hissed, placing a tablet in her palm. Under his fiery gaze, Abigail cowered. "Do you find it difficult to meet my demand for a baby? It has been two years, Christopher." He didn’t answer her question. All he did was stare at her, acting mute. “Why do I feel like you don’t care about my feelings?” Abigail asked. “Don’t you love me?” His silence was the clear answer. ============= A special thanks to Aurora, my editor, for her helpful suggestions on how to improve the synopsis. Eddie and Vivian went to a nearby restaurant. They placed their orders and looked at each other with lots of questions in their eyes.
"Look, Eddie… I don't want to waste time going around in circles. "I brought you here to ask you a question."
Eddie knew it was coming soon. He pretended not to know anything and asked curiously, "Why did you bring me here?"
Vivian stretched her hand toward him and said, "Give it back to me. It is very important for me."
Eddie looked at her hand. He made a poker face and asked, "What do you want from me?"
Vivian ground her teeth and grunted out, "You know what I am saying."
"I… don't know. I don't have anything that belongs to you."
"Don't lie," she grumbled. "You took it. I am darn sure about it."
"Wait a moment… What did I take?" Eddie stared at her with his wide eyes, pretending to be surprised. He wanted to know why she was so desperate for a mere pen drive.
