The Billionaire's Sick Wife

A poor girl born with congenital heart disease has not had much hope for the future, but her life takes a sharp turn when a wealthy, handsome man proposes marriage to her following her heart transplant. It was the most surprising thing to happen to her in her 22 years of life. Abigail had never thought that Christopher Sherman, a young, multibillionaire businessman, would approach her and express his desire to marry her. She was ecstatic and accepted his proposal. But little did she know that the 32-year-old handsome guy had a secret reason for wanting to marry her. Abigail stepped into his world with a lot of hope in her heart. But marrying him was not the happy ending. It was just the beginning. Will she be able to keep her heart from breaking? What will happen if she discovers his true motive? ============= "Life was easy before I married you," said Abigail with pain in her eyes. “I was dying, but I was happy.” “What do you mean?” Christopher clasped her arm. “Stop talking nonsense and eat the medicine,” he hissed, placing a tablet in her palm. Under his fiery gaze, Abigail cowered. "Do you find it difficult to meet my demand for a baby? It has been two years, Christopher." He didn’t answer her question. All he did was stare at her, acting mute. “Why do I feel like you don’t care about my feelings?” Abigail asked. “Don’t you love me?” His silence was the clear answer. ============= A special thanks to Aurora, my editor, for her helpful suggestions on how to improve the synopsis. Don’t keep telling me to leave Abigail.

"Dad must be expecting me," Christopher said calmly, holding her gaze. "I'll go speak with him first."

He turned to leave.

Gloria felt extremely annoyed but couldn't stop him as she knew how furious Adrian was. If she kept Adrian waiting for too long, his rage would only grow.

She brought Christopher to her bedroom to caution him to deal with his father carefully. She was afraid that Christopher's apathy and carelessness would fuel Adrian's rage.

It was the last thing she wanted to see was them fighting. Pamela would only have more reasons to mock her.

"Christopher, son…" She called out to him anxiously. "Be careful with your father. He is furious with you. Do not lose your cool in front of him."

She took his hand in hers and pleaded with him. Her worry was visible on her face.

Christopher's expression softened. He put his hand on hers and nodded reassuringly. "Have some rest, Mom. Everything is going to be fine."
