The Billionaire's Sick Wife

A poor girl born with congenital heart disease has not had much hope for the future, but her life takes a sharp turn when a wealthy, handsome man proposes marriage to her following her heart transplant. It was the most surprising thing to happen to her in her 22 years of life. Abigail had never thought that Christopher Sherman, a young, multibillionaire businessman, would approach her and express his desire to marry her. She was ecstatic and accepted his proposal. But little did she know that the 32-year-old handsome guy had a secret reason for wanting to marry her. Abigail stepped into his world with a lot of hope in her heart. But marrying him was not the happy ending. It was just the beginning. Will she be able to keep her heart from breaking? What will happen if she discovers his true motive? ============= "Life was easy before I married you," said Abigail with pain in her eyes. “I was dying, but I was happy.” “What do you mean?” Christopher clasped her arm. “Stop talking nonsense and eat the medicine,” he hissed, placing a tablet in her palm. Under his fiery gaze, Abigail cowered. "Do you find it difficult to meet my demand for a baby? It has been two years, Christopher." He didn’t answer her question. All he did was stare at her, acting mute. “Why do I feel like you don’t care about my feelings?” Abigail asked. “Don’t you love me?” His silence was the clear answer. ============= A special thanks to Aurora, my editor, for her helpful suggestions on how to improve the synopsis. Christopher should appreciate my and Jasper's friendship.

Abigail slowly stirred from her slumber, finding herself comfortably ensconced in Christopher's arms. As her eyes met his, his warm smile greeted her, and she couldn't help but feel a flutter of mixed feelings.

The dawning sun had lifted the cloud of rage that had hung over her head the day before. Even though she was still discontent with him, her mood was not as bad as it had been.

"Good morning, sugar," he said softly, with a humorous tone in his voice. His eyes were filled with a warmth that could melt even the hardest of hearts. Even after she had treated him so badly, his efforts to pacify her had not abated.

When she thought about her actions the day before, she was distressed.

'Were my actions towards him too harsh?' she pondered, looking at him inquisitively.

His smile lingered on his face. He looked surprisingly fresh and rejuvenated as if he had just stepped out of a refreshing shower.
